Effect of Workaholic

How long you did not get out of your working environment? How long you did not make your days out of the hectic schedules and routines? When was your last vacation? One year? A decade? Please don't tell me even longer than that. Other than the notes you earn from your hard work, what did you get? I'm afraid that you will be terrified after you read through the next paragraphs and take some time off instead of keep trying to impress your boss. What do we call that? - workaholic.

No matter how old you are, who you are and where you are, you will deserve the title "workaholic" if you are working more than 12 hours a day. Excluding the time you use for sleeping, meals, shower and running some errands, there is no more free space for your family and friends. The worst is, you are threatening to yourself! Workaholic family will tend to neglect their children because they are rarely able to squeeze some free time for them. All they have after get back from work are negative moods and body pains; they even do not have extra energy to talk to their children, what about educate them with attention and love? According to some researches, workaholic parents are more likely to make their marriage ends in divorce as compared to the non-workaholic family. This is definitely a bad news for the children and their development.

When you plunge yourself to your meetings, assignments and projects, you won't realize that time flies. You don't know about time, you forgot to rest and you missed your meals! Well, your stomach will probably remind you about that SOON. Do you wake up in the middle at the night in pain? Do you throw up undigested food or blood? If you find out these are happening to you, then congratulations! You might be suffering from stomach ulcers. This could happen from abnormal diet habit such as eating too fast, fast food habit, skip your meals, excessive caffeine and etc. Of course, stress is undeniably the foremost cause of all these habits.

As what we know, indulge yourself in high work load intensively may lead you to depression, stress, anxiety and anger than your non-workaholic colleagues. When you are making your way to please your boss to get promoted, you are actually stimulating your blood pressure to rise up high, same as getting a turn to the hospital. Heart disease, heart attack and stroke are the implications from high blood pressure. Not only high blood pressure, stress and tension will certainly make your body more vulnerable to other health issues.

Do you want yourself to look like 50's when you are technically under 40's? This is not exaggeration. Actually, the workplace itself doesn't give born to the workaholics but it does initiate it. It's really a time for you to go on a vacation if you have been pushing yourself too hard in your job. Nothing is more valuable than your health and the people around you. Get some time out of your work; you will get to know that you missed a lot of beautiful things that happen around you. Life is short, you don't want to spend your life in hospital with needles and medications after you quit from your job. Don't you?
