What You Should Never Do In a Break Up

Jul 26, 2008
When a relationship ends, things look really bleak. Even though a person can be convinced that a relationship is over, there are still ways to get someone back. In saying that, there are times no matter how hard you try to get your "other half" back, it cannot be done. Try to avoid some common mistakes people should never do after a break up. If you are the type of person who cannot deal with any more heartache, it may be best to move on.

Self Discovery -

One of the first things people should do is to look back on the relationship to discover what went wrong. Was it more than one thing that caused the break up? Did you or your ex do something that caused it? Blame should never be one sided because it took two for it to fail. For that reason, you need to do some searching and figure out where you went wrong. As difficult as it may be, confess that you botched the relationship. Even though you admit everything, this does not mean you are able to get someone back.

Everyone believes when a relationship fails, be it marriage or dating, it was a single incident that caused the split. This is far from true. The relationship failed for several different reasons. However, this last event was basically the straw that broke the camel's back.

If you really want to get someone back, the best advice anyone can follow is give your ex some time to heal. It would seem this would be counter productive since you want to let them know how much you love them. For some people, leaving might have resulted from a sense of urgency and extreme anxiety. If you are able to leave them, there is a possibility that your loved one will return to you.

How can you get someone back in your arms? First off, you need to make them see that there is a difference in you. The relationship and circumstances have also changed. Where there is love, there is hope. For couples who love one another, there is an order process that usually follows. Any hurt and abandonment feelings that were started due to the breakup are eventually going to dissipate over time. The key to a good relationship is through communications, by talking about it you may discover how much you still care for one another.

What You Should Never Do In a Break Up -

Never Beg - If you really want to get someone back, never beg and plead. It only shows that you are desperate and weak.

Do Not Force the Issue - This will also send them running from you.

Do Not Make Them See Reason - Even though you are breaking up, if they do love you, they eventually see for themselves.

Do Not Spy on Them - In the end, you will be the one who get hurt.

Do No Try Jealousy - By trying this route, you are more likely to get hurt than you hurting them.

Don't Keep In Touch Right Away - No messages about love whether by e-mail or text messaging. Also do not call them right off.

By following these rules, if you really want to get someone back, not going to extremes is the best way to deal with a break up. Do some soul searching of yourself and give some space to your ex. Your goal is win them back, not push them away!
