How to get pas the Dreaded Plateau

Everyone, at one time or another, has hit this or will hit, what is called the plateau.

When you are training as hard as you can, but seem to make no progress, it can really be frustrating to feel you are not making any progress. I've been there and know the discouragement this can bring. You can break through this plateau and keep moving forwards with your bodybuilding goals.

Most people make one common mistake in their fitness routines, bodybuilders included. The plateau is noticed by all, but more so in the bodybuilder, than say, a tennis player.

What is this mistake I hear you asking. Working out too often. It's as simple as that. I know I sound like a broken record, but your muscles have to recover between workouts if you want the mass.

To build mass you have to work the muscles to exhuastion, but not to the point of overdoing it and straining the muscles. That is not the way to go. In order to achieve those massive muscles, you have to give your body a rest. This rest, or recovery period if you will, is the number one way to overcome the dreaded "plateau".

To increase the capacity of your body you can do anaerobic exercise. One great way to do this is leg presses. Why? Because your legs are the strongest part of your body (they have to hold up all that muscle, right?) and working them out strengthens and benefits the whole body. This can help you achieve success and move out of the plateau and get on with your workout.

Last of all, don?t give up! It?s a shame to see people who have worked so hard for something throw in the towel because they think they have come to an impasse. While the human body does have its limits, what you are probably experiencing is a plateau and you CAN get past it. Keep trying and try out my tips for getting past your plateaus (they?ve worked for me!). All the best of luck to you in meeting your fitness goals.
