Body building basics everyone should know

Aug 1, 2008
Young people are building muscles like never before. This new trend among the young has led them to start building muscle as they consider this an asset to their overall personality. Many gyms and fitness clubs have sprung up in small towns, and cities where trainers are using exercises with and without fitness equipment.

If you have a craze for muscle building and want to be a good one you will have to follow a rigourous routine. There are numerous ways to build muscle, but the only way to do this is: practice.

Most gyms and fitness centers do teach members the correct way to build muscle. There are those gyms that do not. This article has some tips to help the novice muscle builder to get started on his or her own routine.

Eating a balanced diet

The first thing to learn before you start the muscle building exercises is good nutrition. your diet plays a major role in your helath. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are essentials in the buscle building routine. You need a calorie-rich, balanced diet everyday, which should contain minerals, vitamins, protein, etc. Cholesterol rich food or oils are out of the picture as hey can do more harm than good. Again, let me stress, a balanced diet is essential for people who want to build muscle.

Exercising before the gym

Before visiting gym and starting muscle building with machines and fitness equipments, start with jogging or any light exercise. That will help you to stimulate your nerves slowly from the state of rest to state of work. Moreover, a pre-gym exercise is often useful for the people who miss their gym any day. Your trainer or gym instructor can show and demonstrate few pre-gym exercises you can follow.

The right equipment for the right job

When you start the exercise in a gym, you need proper coaching and training beforehand on how to handle the equipments properly. Get yourself checked by a doctor who can diagnose appropriately if you have any kind of health related problem and can specify as to what equipments you can use and what you cannot. You can consult with your gym instructor who can guide you further on how to get the best in your muscle building efforts when you are using a certain type of equipment.

Too much exercise

If you are a complete novice and have just started at the gym, don't overdue it and stress yourself out, physically or mentally. Muscle building takes time and needs weight lifting exercises, but if you push it by using too much weight or too many routines, you will be doing your self more harm than good.

Avoid using steroids

Steroids work on the body by helping increase the amount of stress it can handle. Weightlifters who take steroids are able to handle more weight and more exercises (stress if you will) to increase their biceps and triceps, in their muscle building routines. However, this is more harmful to the body than beneficial and has many health complications. The male body actually produces its own steroid, testosterone, which helps in gaining resistance while doing vigorous exercises. You can eat steroid rich foods also to increase your own testosterone level naturally.

Don't use drugs or other harmful substances

Avoid food and drugs that directly or indirectly have a negative impact on your health and will hinder your efforts in your muscle building program. Avoidance of those things that can harm you will naturally help your body respond to the muscle building routines you choose.
