Is Having Oily Skin Good?

Aug 3, 2008
People who have oily skin hope for one thing and one thing only - that the excess oily will help to delay the signs of ageing and to reduce the number of wrinkles that getting older tends to bring.

There is nothing wrong in hoping for this simply because you do not have to spend anything on expensive anti-aging products that do very little.

The wish cannot be truer for women who may be experiencing menopause as the skin does tend to become very dry skin.

Having skin that is oily helps to make the process of going through menopause just a little more bearable than otherwise. Another great benefit to having skin that is oily is that it can also protect your skin from other blemishes especially age spots.

We have looked at the positive aspect of having oily skin but you need to be knowledgeable that there can be many disadvantages, and the benefits do not always outweigh the negatives.

If you are a women and you are going through menopause then having oily skin may make you feel like you are a teenager. And with that comes the onslaught of spots, pimples, zits and acne, and you are again faced with the dilemma of whether or not to squeeze that spot as you once did many years ago that you had hoped that it would be distant memory.

So if you really had hoped for oily skin in order to delay the appearance of wrinkles you could soon well be regretting your decision.

Having oily skin can delay ageing but as you will learn form your own personal experience it can have its problems. If you do get acne and are left with scaring on the skin, you would probably wish you had a wrinkle, because depending on the severity of the scar, this can be ugly, whereas a wrinkle adds character to a persons face.

You need to keep making sure that you skin is getting the right amount of moisture content and when you wash your face, you are not using something that is going to dry your skin out. This would be bad as the skin will then start to overcompensate for any lack of moisture.

So you do not want oily skin for the sake of delaying the signs of ageing but you do want a skin care routine that is going to help keep wrinkles away and will help to keep your skin looking young and youthful at all times.

Therefore you need a product range that is going to help to nourish your skin with lots of vitamins and minerals as well as providing your skin with the right level of moisture content.

If you are noticing that your oily skin is helping to keep your skin looking young and you are managing to avoid any outbreaks of any skin blemishes, then that you need to do is to continue to manage your oily skin with your existing product range.

It might be an idea if you go to a beauty salon and to speak to a professional there who will be able to give you guidance on what products to use and also how to make sure that you avoid any nasty breakouts.
