Six Hair-dos For Different Face Shapes

Aug 4, 2008
It is important that we should look for appropriate hair-do for our face shape. As long as we always follow this, there will be no doubt that we will really look good and feel good with ourselves. Just like in clothes that we should know what to wear if we are thin, top heavy or pear-shaped, we should also need to know what hair cut is best for the shape of our face to avoid looking uncomfortably unfamiliar with our faces.

Here are six different cuts for the different shape of faces:

Long: You will need a perky bob which is parted off at the center and the cut is shorter towards the back. This do will help your face get rounder and the parting off at the center will quickly add width to your face. Never try short bangs, add volume to the top or grow the hair very long because this will really elongate your face. It is important that we don't accentuate our face shapes otherwise the purpose of a hair-cut will be defeated.

Diamond: You will need a layered cut. If you want a short hair, go for a graduated bob with wide bangs. The importance of such a cut can be seen by neutralizing a narrow chin. Such is the role of layered cuts and soft cuts all in all. The bangs when slanted to the side will definitely move any attention from the jaw and especially your narrowed chin. Do not ever have extreme hair-dos like having really short cut or very long hair. These kinds of hair-dos will emphasize your pointed chin and will give attention more to that area.

Pear: A layered hair cut that is longer than the mandibular or jaw line. You have to add volume at the top and at your cheeks. This is the trick to balance off that wide chin of yours. Otherwise, never consider waves because this will broaden and add more width to your jaw line which is exactly emphasizing the area that is supposed to be de-emphasized.

Square: The best do for square faced is the hair with choppy layers or just that soft shoulder-length curls will do. When you do this, you are softening the angular areas of your face and will create an illusion that you have a round face. Do not ever try angled dos that can make your face look kind of harsh. If you add bangs, this will make your face like a box which is really not a good idea if you are trying to look good.

Round: A short, wispy cut which will frame the face or layered shag is the best do for you. You will need to add volume on the crown area and part off your hair at the side. This kind of trick is best to make an illusion that you have long face. Never ever try pony tails or any styles that add too much width to your face because this will make rounder your already round face.

Oval: The best hair do for you is either long or short layered hair or even the bobbed will do. This is because your face is an ideal face that will allow you to experiment different hair-cuts which is actually a benefit to your side. You can choose whatever hair-cut and emphasize whatever facial feature you want to emphasize. This is your gift and a privilege at the same time. You never have to worry what hair do is best for you or what you should or should not do because your face will actually carry whatever cut you wanted into it. Any hair-dos present will suit your face just fine.

Whatever faces shape we have, we always have to put in mind how we look when we do that kind of hair-cut. The power of imagination and creativity will likely make you see what you will look like. It is important that we should feel comfortable with the kind of hair-cut we decide on.
