Ways to Track Website Visitors with Chat Software

Current chat software programs have extra functions that allow users to track their website visitors in many ways. This helps the companies to learn more about those who come to their site seeking information. There are several different methods for tracking these guests.

1. Track by time. You can track the website visitors by when they have visited your pages. There is information available on how many visitors have come to your site today, yesterday, this week, or within a certain range of dates. You can even find out when a visitor has participated on your live chat line before.

If you find that people are coming to your site at certain times, you can concentrate your efforts on bringing them better customer service during those times. Along with handling the customers you have at busy times, you can also try to come up with ways to bring in visitors during the slow times.

2. Track by language and region. If you want to know where your customers are located, chat software can be obtained that will take note of how many are located in each place. The information might be valuable in determining the types of marketing you use for your products and services. If your audience is primarily in the U.K. for example, you might want to cater to those specific language forms.

3. Track by web page. Your chat software can help you to determine which of your pages is visited the most often. The tracking will also let you know how much time is spent on each page of your website. This should help you to think about what makes that page so popular and try to duplicate that with the other pages.

4. Track by search statistics. You can get data from your chat software on the keywords people are using to get to your site. Another way to use the program is to look for the information on which Search Engines are sending the guests to your pages. With this knowledge, you can do a targeted SEO campaign to reach more people through the Search Engines.

The more you know about your website visitors, the better you will be at marketing your products and services to them. Since your website visitors are the pool from which your customers come, this is very important. You can use chat software to find out all you need to know to understand your guests and customers.
