Creating Your Personal Wedding Website

Aug 8, 2008
It is very common for couples to create their own wedding website these days. In fact, it is mainly because it is not very difficult to start a personal wedding site. In the past, it is very difficult for you to create a website unless you have knowledge on website programming. However, this situation has changed. There are a lot of free services for you to choose in order to create your own wedding site.

As a matter of fact, most couples will enjoy visiting the wedding websites of other couples. Yes it is true that it can be very interesting to know how the others are planning for the wedding. You will try to learn from the experiences of the other couples. This is one of the reasons for you to visit other wedding websites. On the other hand, you may also want to share your joy and experience while you are planning for your wedding. As a result, you will also try to create your own wedding site.

The most important reason for you to create your wedding site is that you can let your guests know what you are currently doing about your wedding. Since nearly everyone will have an email address these days, you will inform your guests about your wedding website by sending them emails. If you are going to print wedding invitations, you may also put the URL of the wedding website on the wedding card. Of course you should advise your guests to visit your website. Your guests will certainly be interested to visit your site before they attend your wedding.

There is another important function for your wedding website. You can give your guests the most updated information about your wedding through the site. For example, you will try to put the accommodation and transportation details in the website so that your guests can refer to it from time to time. Some couples may even upload their gift registry to the site. The idea here is that you can keep your guests updated. Without a personal wedding website, it will be very difficult for you to do so. Your guests will find your site useful if you can update your website from time to time.

In most cases, you will need to order respond cards when you are ordering your wedding invitation. However, you may not need to order the RSVP cards if you have created a wedding site. You can create an online RSVP form so that you guests can submit it through your site. The information your guests submitted will be stored in the database of you website. You can then check the data from time to time so that you can prepare your guest list and prepare for services such as catering easily.

As mentioned, it was nearly impossible for you to create your own wedding site a few years ago. However, it is totally possible nowadays. What is even better is that you do not need to spend even a buck in order to create the website!
