Getting a Bigger Penis Through The Ages

By Richard Spencer
Aug 8, 2008
You may think that penis enlargement is a new thing newly brought into the realms of possibility in the 20th Century. A new phenomenon brought about by a sexual revolution that has given us more control over our sexuality. Well you would be wrong. Humans have been at it for thousands of years and will probably continue to try and add an inch or two to make up for the stinginess of mother nature.

It has been proposed that the Pharaohs in Egypt were doing it in the pre-dynastic era which was 7000 years ago! More precise factual evidence appears around 2000 years ago from several tribes in Africa. The method used was simply to attach weights to the penis until the desired length was attained. The result would have been permanent but the girth or thickness of the penis would be reduced.

While this method is definitely effective it can damage the internal structure of the penis and render it dysfunctional. The erectile tissue depends on a good delivery of blood to pump up an erection and if it is compromised there is a likelihood of diminished function or maybe even impotence.

The Chinese have also been doing it for millennia using their very wide knowledge of herbs and other natural ingredients. Herbal medicines included ginseng and yohimbe and other secret ingredients specially prepared to enhance the length of the penis. They also had some excellent concoctions for increasing sexual appetite. Some of these ingredients are still used today in pills although there is a lot of disagreement about whether they are effective or not.

Ancient Arabic civilization has a strong tradition of penis enlargement and young Arabs were given lessons in a technique called Jelq. This is a system of stretching and squeezing the semi erect penis from the base to the end. An initiate would use alternate hands to maintain a rhythm for a period of about 10 minutes each day. After about a month there would be a definite gain if the technique was performed correctly and regularly. At the beginning of the 20th Century a vacuum pump was invented by an Austrian called Otto Ledever. A chamber is placed over the penis and sealed. Then the air is drawn out causing the penis to swell with blood. This is now considered to have very little permanent effect and can eventually cause damage.

We now have penis enlargement devices which reflect our own technological age. Most of the methods that are being used today have a background that comes from the tried and tested methods handed down by our ancestors. Currently the most effective ways are probably by using stretching devices that follow on from the stone hanging methods described above. Nicely manufactured contraptions that stretch the penis in a controlled way. They are designed to enlarge the penis without causing any damage to the reproductive function and guaranteed to have no side effects. There has probably never ever been a better time to get a bigger penis.
