How to Wear a Long Hair Style

Aug 8, 2008
Have you ever had a special event or function to go to and just did not know what to do with your hair? It is a special occasion so your normal do will just not work. Of course you want to look fresh and fabulous, but you do not always know how and sometimes end up just falling back on the tried and the true hair style. The problem with this is that it makes you lose track of what is elegant and leaves you with no way to gauge your hairdo anymore. Being willing to try out a new hair style is just as important as wearing that trendy new outfit; it makes you feel beautiful. The best way to evolve your personal style is to step outside your comfort zone sometimes.

One of the most common looks is a long hair style, but this can also be one of the hardest to work with. A long hair style gives you so many options, but this can make you panic and just revert back to your typical blow out that you always wear. There are so many great things about having a long hair style and it almost always allows you to participate in the latest hair trend.

One of the biggest trends for women right now is with some variation of braids. I am sure that you have noticed many young Hollywood starlets with the French braids and Grecian goddess style dresses because that has become the new and latest trend. This is a really beautiful long hair style, but it can be very difficult to braid your own hair and not everyone can afford to see a professional stylist every time they go out. There is an easier way than having to braid it from the back and it is something that just about everyone with long hair can do themselves. All you have to do is grab two small pieces from either side of your part and start twisting downward, adding more hair as you twist, as if you were collecting hair for a French braid on either side. Then just secure them in the back with a thin rubber band, leaving the rest down, loose and natural.

There are many other long hair styles that are very fashionable, yet informal. So, next time you are getting ready for a night out try pulling your hair back in a messy bun or doing a twisty French braid to achieve that star quality look for the night.
