Choose Your Natural Head Lice Treatment

You do not always have to buy a commercially made product to get rid of head lice, a natural head lice treatment also responds well in the removal of head lice. The thing to be aware of though is that it does take time and you need to do it properly. Often you will need to repeat the process. Don't forget that you also need to treat the rest of the house hold with the natural head lice treatment otherwise re-infestation will occur.

Natural Head Lice Treatment Are Not Clinically Tested

Most of the natural head lice treatments that are recommended are done so through anecdotal evidence only. They have not been through the standardized tests where the conditions have been strictly controlled such as those in over the counter treatments. When you have children you will want to try the natural treatments first. Commercially made products do have chemicals in them and because of the concern of the possible harsh side effects of the commercially made products parents tend to try an natural treatment first.

Here We Go

The first and easiest method is the use of a nit comb (this can be purchased from your local pharmacy). Shampoo the hair as per normal and then condition it. With the conditioner still in the hair section the hair. Start passing the nit comb through the hair until you have done the whole head. Repeat the process a few times until there are no head lice or eggs evident. Repeat this treatment in three or four days to kill any head lice that may have hatched since the last treatment

The use of food products in the removal of head lice is a favorite method. The first food product is thick mayonnaise. Lather it into the hair and wait for fifteen minutes then use a nit comb to comb out the hair. The other method is the use of olive oil. Slather your hair with food grade oil like vegetable or olive oil and leave it on for fifteen minutes, then comb out your hair carefully with a flea or nit comb, wiping the comb on a paper towel after each swipe through your hair. However, most people cannot afford this natural head lice treatment.

So there you go a few natural head lice treatment that are safe to use and can be found in your kitchen cupboard. But remember that they need to be done repeatedly to ensure that you do get rid of those head lice.
