How to Better Your Vocabulary with Poker

Aug 9, 2008
To be a great poker player you have to know when and how to call your bluff. Poker is one of the largest games of deception around, you have to lie your way to riches, keeping a straight face and trying to deceive your opponents. If you are a mild hearted type of person than it may be quite a hard game for you to master, especially when you are playing in various poker tournaments and against big personalities.

Basically how poker works is as follows, when you first start playing the game a series of opponents will surround you on the table and each person will put there wager, or in other words money chips to the centre of the table. If a player feels that you are lying and they have the upper hand over you then that is where the game starts to get very anxious and to the right player it can be very rewarding. The reason for this is because your opponent will keep putting up the stake of the money in the pot until either you or they give up and pull out. This is when the stakes can get very high especially when you have two very stubborn players.

I believe to fully master poker you will first have to get your vocabulary absolutely and utterly perfect. What I mean by this is that you will have to learn to lie with a straight face and teach yourself how to use words to manipulate your opponents, you will have to try and affect there brain power. An example of this is when you see your opponent maybe fiddling with his collar or getting irritant, then it is your chance to attack. You will only get one chance, so make sure you do it good. Before you even get into a poker game you should be confident that you will not let your opponent see you are struggling especially when you have a bad selection of cards.

Poker is a game of voice and mind power if you do not have these two aspects then you will probably always end up on the losing chair, the greatest way to get into some ones mind is with the correct vocabulary, nothing will hurt them more and cause them to mess up and maybe quit the game. So remember mind control and vocabulary practice will give you a great winning streak.
