How to Win Your Ex Back in 4 Simple Steps

Aug 11, 2008
You broke up a week or two ago, and now you don't know how to win your ex back. It happens to the best of us. No matter how we felt at the time of the breakup, our emotions have calmed and now we want things to go back to how they were. You truly don't know what you got til it's gone. Don't lose hope, there are a few ways you can get your ex back.

Step 1 - Stay Strong

The first thing you need to do is stay strong. Remind yourself that your ex does not define you and that you can stand on your own. By making this mantra a part of your being, you project confidence and positivity. When you go forward with try to get your ex back, keep this in mind. Your ex should compliment you, not define and control you. If you don't follow this, you could just end up looking desperate and need - two things that will likely send your ex running for the hills.

Step 2 - Don't Look Desperate

On that note, it is also important to avoid looking desperate at all costs. You want your ex back, yes, but you don't want to look like a beggar. Try and play it cool and be aloof when you need to. Don't show up at your ex's house unexpectedly, but a phone call every so often could work. More than anything, you need to be their friend. Sure, the breakup hurt your feelings, but don't let those negative emotions cloud how you feel. If you want your ex back, you need to project confidence and comfort in their presence. Treat them like a possible date, as if you didn't know the things you know. This kind of playfulness is very alluring.

Step 3 - Get Out More

Another thing to remember that will help you avoid appearing desperate, is get out and live your life. Even if you and your ex have friends in common, you need to get out and have fun. Don't bring up your ex to those friends you have in common, as you don't want it to get back to him or her that you appear desperate or angry. A projection of confidence or aloofness may even bring your ex back to you out of curiosity.

Step 4 - Be Honest

Though these kinds of games are fun and effective, at the same time you need to be honest. Men and women alike are empathic beings and your ex will pick up on certain queues if you are being dishonest. More than likely, they are very familiar with your poker face and will be able to tell if you are just "playing nice." You want to be friendly, but rein in the swirling emotions you have within you. This may sound dishonest, but by taking these things to heart you are being honest with yourself, in addition to being honest with your ex.

Conclusion

All in all, getting your ex back is not an easy process, but it is possible. It's never an easy game when you are playing with emotions, but hopefully some ideas have been provided here that can tell you how to win your ex back.
