Fad Dieting Linked To Depression

Many studies have linked dieting with depression. Others say dieting and depression have no cause and effect relationship and just happen to be concurring. It is more convincing that there are some serious psychological effects from rigid dieting.

Fad diets why are they bad is because they deplete nutrients from your body. Some of these nutrients if deficient, may affect your mind and mood. It has been found that magnesium deficiencies have something to do with anxiety and depression. Anxiety and depression have closely related symptoms. People are often diagnosed with both disorders. Magnesium levels affect cardiac health as well.

Fad diets why are they bad is because they can leave you more vulnerable to becoming depressed. The Mental Health Foundation in Britain, says depression is occurring because of the way our food is processed and from the pesticides from the fields in which the animals eat. It is more commonly believed, that improper dieting increases your risk to developing depression. Fad diets why are they bad is because they attack the nutrients stored in our body and your improper diet is not replacing them.

The lack of omega 3 fatty acids found in fish are also linked to depression. Fad dieting lacks this nutrient and so does our western common diet. People do not eat enough fish, especially fresh fish. It has been found that poor diets lower our body's threshold to developing depression. Fad diets why are they bad is because they lack so many of these nutrients needed for health.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what nutrients fad diets lack. The medical profession is quick to prescribe antidepressants and counseling for your depression cure. Some studies have shown that eating a special diet can be your depression cure. High doses of B12 have been experimented with for your depression cure. In one report, researchers found that a change in diet was showing better results than counseling and drugs for your depression cure.

What is your depression cure? Some experts do agree a nutritious diet supervised by a Doctor or Dietician can be your depression cure. Your depression cure may be physical activity. The practice of Yoga is being studied as a depression cure. Yoga connects the body, mind and spirit. It makes you feel wonderful after a workout. Yoga is calming and relaxing. Yoga may just be your depression cure.

Any exercise can help in developing your depression cure. Exercise releases endorphins, a natural occurring substance in the body that makes you feel good. When you are depressed it is hard to get moving, but it is one of the best ingredients to finding your depression cure. There are so many ways to exercise, from walking to rock climbing. Find what is right for you and stick with an exercise program.

Fad diets why are they bad is because, with the low caloric intake and lack of nutritional value, you will be too weak to exercise. Fad diets are linked to depression. Their lack of specific nutrients has been briefly discussed here. Overall, it seems that a wall balanced diet and regular exercise may be the best for your depression cure.
