How To Have Diet Meals For Two

Aug 12, 2008
Many couples are going on diets together now. They live a lifestyle together that is unhealthy for years, and then they have a change of heart. These couples decide to do the same diet at the same time to make it easier on both. Yet, that is no reason to take the romance out of a dinner for two.

1. Weight Watchers dieters can dine in style. Although the Weight Watchers diet does allow some specialty pre-packaged foods, it is primarily a fresh food diet. If you know the values of the different foods, you can even eat out easily without going off your diet.

Always have a large salad with just a touch of oil and vinegar dressing. Or, you can get a small amount of low-fat dressing on the side. Be sure you do not eat more than the recommended amount of meat or carbs. Vegetables are good to fill up on.

Do not feel that you have to eat everything on your plate. When you have finished the amount of food you are allowed, set your napkins over the tops of your plates. Then sit back and chat over cups of coffee or glasses of unsweetened iced tea.

2. Nutrasystem diets can be adapted for two. It takes a little more imagination to make these meals romantic, but it can be done. You will each have your own stores of food since you are each doing the diet individually. Select complimentary meals from your separate stores of food. For example, if one has penne pasta, the other might like ravioli.

Next, add some fresh items to the meal. Nutrasystem always encourages you to eat a lot of salads, so make up a large bowl of salad greens to share. Choose a couple of desserts from your supplies. To make it seem more festive, plate the food creatively, as if you were in a restaurant. Add a few candles for mood lighting, and your Nutrasystem meal will be a perfect date dinner.

3. If you are both on the Medifast diet, you can share your one real meal together. Medifast has meal replacements for 5 meals and then you get 1 real meal of a lean protein, along with a salad and vegetables. Use this meal to spend some quality time with your loved one.

With the Medifast diet, it is important to take it slowly. You might be excited about having your one normal meal after having meal replacements all day. The key is to look into each other's eyes, talk between bites, and savor every morsel.

Whether you are on the Weight Watchers, Nutrasystem, or Medifast diet, you can have an enjoyable meal with your loved one. Not only will you enjoy this daily experience; it will also set you up for good eating habits in the future.
