The Basics of Live Dealer Online Roulette

Aug 17, 2008
Live dealer online roulette is everything that a real roulette game is. The only difference is that you can play it at home and the dealer can only be seen through webcasting technology. Like the real version, the online game still play by the same set of house rules and offer both the American and European roulette tables. The original form of the game came from France, but was modified around the time when it debuted in the United States. As a result, the changes made became known as an entirely different variation called American Roulette, as opposed to the original French version called European Roulette. The main difference between the two lies in the table, or the number of pockets on the table, to be exact. The European table has 37 pockets, one of which is the zero pocket. The American table, on the other hand, has 38 pockets. It has the additional double zero pocket that the European table does not have. These zeros were not part of the original roulette game, and were only added to increase the house advantage. Another difference between the two tables is the chips that are used in the live version. In American Roulette, the value of the chips is determined at the time when it was purchased. Thus, a player can only have chips of the same value. For European Roulette, however, the chips have a standard value that does not change, so a player can have chips with different values. The good thing about the online version of the game is that all the different kinds of roulette games that you can play are also available online.

The main concept of the game is all about spinning a wheel and throwing a ball in the direction opposite to the wheel's spin. The goal is to guess where the ball will land by placing bets on numbered pockets on the roulette table. Although the chances of winning are, truthfully speaking, kind of slim and depends almost entirely on luck, a lot of people still play roulette because of the high payouts of up to 35 to 1 if the player only bets on a single number and wins. The betting stage in roulette is not as simple as it seems. Several factors are also considered such as the color, the range, the odds and the evens. There are also different kinds of bets such as the inside bets, straight bets, split bet, street bet, square bet, and five-number bet.

The inside bets refer to any bets placed on the pockets on the inside part of the table. The straight bet, also known as classic bet, is the controversial and popular bet because it can win you a 35 to 1 payout. It simply means betting on one number and believing that the ball will land on the combination you chose. If you're not too confident about your guessing abilities, you can place numerous bets. There are plenty of ways to do so. The first type is the split bet, which means you place bets on the line between two pockets. This means that your bet is split between the two pockets. The payout for this type of bet is 17:1. If you can bet on two pockets at the same time, you can also bet on three. This type of bet is called the street bet, which means that you are betting on any one of three numbers you choose. The payout is 11:1. You can also bet on four numbers, which is called the square bet. The payout is 8 to 1. You can also place outside bets, which means that you bet on one of the pockets outside the grid on the table. You can also simply bet that the ball will land on a red or a black pocket, an odd or an even pocket, a high bet or a low bet. Aside from these, there are still some other betting options, which are applicable both for the live or the live dealer online roulette versions.

Players of live dealer online roulette versions find it easy to get hooked on the game. Beginners and expert casino players both can enjoy a good game of roulette. Because it is also very enjoyable and easy to learn, it is now one of the most loved casino games in both land and online casinos. In roulette, whether you win or not, you will surely enjoy the game.
