Holiday Gift Baskets For That Special Someone With a Sweet Tooth

Aug 21, 2008
Everyone knows someone; maybe it's even you, with a sweet tooth. When it comes time to purchase a gift, your mind automatically falls on buying that special person sweets. What else could make them happier? How about holiday gift baskets filled with sweets? Instead of just one little box of chocolates, your friend or loved one can enjoy bag after bag of sweet goodness as they make their way through one of the sweet treats holiday gift baskets.

When you decide to purchase holiday gift baskets for someone with a sweet tooth, you want to look for certain characteristics to make sure you are getting the best gift for the money you spend.

Here are some things to look for when purchasing sweet treat holiday gift baskets:

Variety

Granted, most chocoholics can live by fudge alone. But make sure that your basket has some variety in it. Perhaps different varieties of fudge? If they like nuts, then a nice selection of candied pecans, buttered rum candied pecans, chocolate pecan bark, etc. All of these selections round out nice sweet treat holiday gift basket. You want your friend to be able to gorge themselves on all kinds of sweets for a while. Not just one sitting. Besides, you might like to "borrow" a few praline-candied pecans yourself!

Bang For Your Buck

As with any purchase, you want to make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck. Is there a large enough assortment of sweets in the basket? Will your friend or loved one have enough to eat and share? Is there anything in the basket that is time sensitive or will spoil? These are all things you need to consider when weighing the amount you are willing to pay for your basket versus the basket you ultimately purchase.

Attractive Packaging

When buying holiday gift baskets, another important thing to look for is packaging. How attractive is it? Are the contents well thought out and placed nicely in the basket? When the recipient gets the basket will they really be "blown away" by its presentation - not only of its contents, but also of its layout? Is the basket attractive? If the basket is attractive, this will allow the receiver to reuse the basket for other things around the home instead of just throwing it out. This puts a green spin on the gift - a definite plus!

Personal Preference

Sweets come down to personal preference. The key is to know your friend or loved one. What do they like? When looking for holiday gift baskets that contain just the right candies for your sweet tooth loving friend, look for items you know they are sure to love. Whether it's chocolates, nuts or chocolate covered nuts, you want the recipient to know you thought of them and took the time to buy them a gift that you felt suited them to a "T."

So the next time you are gift shopping, instead of buying just one gift, consider a gift basket filled with many gifts sure to please the sweet tooth in all of us.
