Mending A Broken Relationship With Your Ex

Aug 21, 2008
Losing an ex over something frivolous is bad enough, but trying to get an ex back, even worse. There are a few things you can do in an attempt to get an ex back, but it will only work if you already know that there is a possibility of getting them back. Sit and have a talk with them, see where you both stand about the relationship before making any other moves to get them back. You have to make sure that you both are on the same page, and work from there.

A good start to getting your ex back is to write a letter. All of the emotions that you may have a hard time expressing verbally, put them down on paper for your ex to read. It always seems so much easier to write down how you feel, and if your ex knows where you're coming from, it may show them how sincere you are, and how badly you want them back. Write a letter, a poem, a passage, anything comfortable for you to get your feelings across.

After you're back on speaking terms, the next step to bringing your ex back to you is to plan a day together doing something you both enjoy. This will let you see if getting back together is really the best thing for you. Some possibilities of things you might do are seeing a movie, having dinner, or shopping. Think of something you've enjoyed doing together in the past where you can enjoy one another's company.

Try to take some time to talk while spending this time together, don't be afraid to have fun. If your ex really wants you back, this is a good way to find out because the moments of fun will consume them and remind them of the good times you two are capable of having together. This will open their mind to the thought of being with you again.

Another step in this process is to do something for your ex. If you're a good cook, fix a romantic supper and invite them over. If you're crafty, make them a gift from your heart. You can even buy them something you know they've been wanting for a long time. This way they'll know that you're still thinking of them and that you still care about them. Assuming they still have feelings for you as well, this gesture should make them reconsider reviving the relationship.

Keep communication clear between the both of you. Let them know what you want from them, and tell them what you're willing to do for them to get the relationship back. Your ex will be able to know if you are sincere and this will grab them and bring them back to you.

This is the courtship plot all over again. The chief aim is a renewed commitment to each other. Be open to possible changes in the shape of your relationship. It might not be the same rituals allover again as you will get rid of what did not work out well in the past. Hopefully, in the end, your former beloved will be convinced that the relationship merits a second try, acknowledging the strength of the bond you build together through the years.
