A Balanced Diet is the Only Way to a Balanced Scale

Aug 22, 2008
Yo-yo dieting is a fad that most likely going to last until people learn that there is no quick way to weight loss. Most fad diets work for a short period of time because they only let the dieter eat certain foods for a long enough period of time that their bodies' burn muscle mass which results in lower weight. However, since the fat is still stored, as soon as they slip up and eat what they have been depriving their bodies of, the weight jumps right back onto their frames.

These diets are never going to provide lasting healthy body frames because they are get thin quick schemes designed with surefire failure techniques so that people will jump right onto the next one. In order to achieve a lean firm body people need to understand they need a proper well-balanced regular diet that provides their bodies with the well rounded ingredients needed to help their bodies lose weight effectively from fatty areas while maintaining healthy muscles. A healthy diet will produce a healthy body which is much more capable of holding its own on a day when it can't make it to the gym or there is no food available that adheres to their crazy diet plan.

A healthy diet consists of all three key ingredients that are usually toyed with in current diet trends, carbohydrates, proteins, and fat. Yes, even fat is needed if you eat its healthy forms to keep you looking trim and your best, and for the Adkins dieters out there, believe it or not, you body does need some bread on occasion to fuel it and help it burn fat into muscle. When choosing your carbs, focus on eating fruits and vegetables with small portions of complex carbs to produce a healthier stronger you. Protein should be the largest part of your diet since protein is what does fuel muscle production, eating healthy sources of protein jumpstart your metabolism and help you burn fat quicker. Some sources of excellent protein are fish, poultry, eggs, and small portions of red meat. Whey protein in a supplement form can also aid you towards healthy protein requirements. This leads fat to be added to your diet, which while so constantly coupled to everything wrong with your body, can actually be healthy to have in your diet so long as it is in the form of amino acids which can be found in flax, olive oil, fish, and walnuts.

Finally, now that you understand you need all three of these elements in your body, keep your meal sized portions of the three small. Eating 3-4 smaller meals a day is better than one or two because it keeps your body's metabolism up all day so that your body can effectively burn each small meal while you consume it, instead of fighting to burn one meal a day that you have eaten after starving yourself for most of the day. Try to space your meals about 2-3 hours apart for the best results.
