How Big Is Your Email List?

When it comes to making money with email marketing the size of your list really does matter. However, quality is important to! If you do not like the size or kind of list you are building then read this article.

When we say that size does matter it's an obvious point to make that the larger your mailing list, the better chance you have to make money off of it. The exception to this would be if you're doing bulk email marketing, and am really not building the list yourself.

Building your own list then is a prerequisite to having a quality list. It's interesting that in certain niches there are people that make a full-time living with lists of under a thousand people.

However, a general rule of thumb is if you have a good quality list you can earn one dollar per month for every subscriber that you have.

So if you want to make $10,000 a month build a quality email list of 10,000 subscribers and work with it. That is another key point that we need to make.

An idle list is not going to make you any money. Also constantly selling to your list all the time will cause you to create more people to unsubscribe than will actually stay on your list.

You have to earn your stripes with your list and that means developing your credibility over a period of time. Relationship building is a key component to having a quality email list and making money from it.

If you provide quality information on a timely basis, then you are doing your job correctly when it comes to email marketing. Because you're not a nonprofit organization is only reasonable to expect that you will offer things for sale to your list on a regular basis.

Your ability to juggle between offering valuable information and selling things is part of the key to making money with email marketing. However it's not as hard as it sounds and you will get the feel for what you want to do with your own email marketing list.

You can expect that there are going to be people who will be upset with you and willing to subscribe no matter how you handle it. That's okay because you didn't want them on your list anyway.

In summary when we look at how big your email list is, we also want to consider the quality of the list itself. By building a large one, and working with it, you can develop into a highly qualified list of potential and existing buyers.
