Alert: Tahitian Noni Juice May Lower The Bad Cholesterol (ldl)

Aug 25, 2008
Doctors often caution patients to lower their levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and studies are now showing that there may be a new weapon to fight bad cholesterol. Tahitian noni juice has shown positive results in studies recently in helping people lower their levels of LDL and see improved health.

Noni juice comes from the fruit of the aMorinda Citrifoliaa tree which is native to the Polynesian Islands of the South Pacific. The juice of this bumpy fruit has been used by over 2,000 years in alternative medicine practices by the Polynesianas and now studies are showing that it may indeed improve health by reducing triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

Smokers often have higher levels of cholesterol and this in turn increases their risk of heart attack, but one study showed a large reduction in cholesterol in only 30 days. This may be attributed to the special properties of Tahitian noni juice which give it cancer-fighting properties including being a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent.

Significant differences were found between the group taking the Tahitian noni juice and the placebo group in this study and the placebo groupas total cholesterol and triglyceride levels actually increased a bit during the course of the study. As a spokesperson for the study said, athis study is a rare example of good research of a dietary supplement or food that makes health claims.a Because of the differences found between the two groups a larger clinical study should be in the works soon.

Americans spent over $16 billion last year alone on statin drugs and television advertising is bringing even more awareness of these medications. While the human body does need a certain level of cholesterol to work properly, high levels can lead to heart disease and other health issues. With this increased concern about cholesterol levels Tahitian noni juice may prove to be a viable option to these medications.

With a quart bottle costing as much as $26 the juice is not exactly inexpensive and the taste can make it difficult for some people to get down. The strong odor and taste can be covered up somewhat by the addition of fruit juices, such as blueberry or grape.

Though other supplements are also reported to have an effect on cholesterol since it is extracted from a fruit noni juice is a nice fit with the types of recommendations given by doctors and nutritionists when advising a patient about alternative medicine options. The juice has a good chance to become more popular as peoples look for less expensive ways to lower cholesterol without resorting to costly prescriptions.

Sales are on the rise as more headlines are pointing to the cholesterol lowering properties of Tahitian noni juice. When the study was reported by one news network the sales jumped to more than $1 billion. Hopefully word will continue to spread and more studies will be done so that greater numbers of people can benefit from this amazing product.
