Surviving and Thriving After a Painful Break-up

Aug 26, 2008
It is likely that your love is gone. It's for sure painful to lose someone who you truly cherish in your life. Intimacy is nursed and not bought. Losing someone you have groomed and may be molded for a long time is the most painful and hurting experience in life.

To start a relationship is easy but to maintain it and succeed is another thing. It's normal and usual for a relationship to break but the worst part of it comes when the parties involved are too hurt and left with some painful wounds to nurse. The healing process of a break-up may differ so much depending on different people and the kind of relationship that existed between them. It may take long or short time to heal but you must know how to overcome a painful relationship break-up.

When a break-up occurs in a relationship, it leaves one with unbelievable and unbearable pain and shame. Here are some tips on how to overcome.

Face it, you need to come to terms that the relationship is over. You should force yourself to value the absence of your partner even if you feel like denying the situation. Anger follows after the denial once you realize that you are often getting disturbed by this experience just take it positively and try to overcome it. Celebrate even if things appear to be going the wrong way.

After denial and anger, it follows that you might be stressed to the extent of getting depressed. It's normal to get stressed after a moment of pain but you must try to avoid pressures that may force you into a state of depression.

Being in the company of friends whenever possible will leave you spending less of your time alone, and leave you less prone to dwelling on memories of your past relationship. Try to overcome your stress by sharing with your close friend about your life encounter or even seek advice from a chancellor. This is something that you will discover once your anger and stress have left you. The healing of a painful breakup starts with accepting the real scenerio and thus the hurt is overcome slowly.

The past shall remain in the past after all is said and done. Your thoughts and spoken words have power waiting to be rediscovered. Do not let the events of your past prevent you from having a peaceful future. If you are unable to let go of the past and the mistakes that you have made, you will never be able to experience a total calmness in your life.

Think big and better yourself. I would advice you not to give up on matters of love but give a trial to another relationship. A break up is not a reason enough as to why you should live an unfulfilling life. Through the adversity discover your own strength, be happy and live your life for love. All of these thing will help you overcome those painful feelings.
