Using The Treadmill To Bust The Stress

Today's modern and fast paced life has its own heath hazards. One of them is stress, and one of the best ways to combat stress is to go for a regular workout on a treadmill. Basically, a treadmill is a piece of indoor sporting equipment used for running or walking without moving any distance.

Regular exercise on a treadmill can reduce strain to ankles, knees, and lower back of a user. Physical therapy has always been in use for boosting moods and improving health. Numerous studies have shown that physical activity of any form can lighten stress and depression. It boosts energy and improves overall well-being of a person.

A treadmill is a machine that is used for running or walking without moving any distance. it is an indoor piece. It is used in almost all health clubs and physiotherapy hospitals. According to the desire of an individual the speed can be set. It occupies less space. It is easy to move from one place to another. It has many advantages as well as disadvantages. Therefore one has to think and go for the best treadmill.

Benefits of a treadmill
A recent study at Duke University has revealed that even as little as eight minutes on a treadmill can help reduce symptoms of depression. And sustained regular exercise helps alleviate depression over long run. Moreover, a vigorous workout during a day will help improve sleep.

Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine conducted a study that included 43 adult volunteers having ages 50 to 76. These adults were sedentary, and with mild sleep complaints.

They were arbitrarily assigned to one of two groups. One group was suggested to exercise 30 to 40 minutes, four times a week. The members of other group continued with their sedentary lifestyle.

Those who had a workout cut the time it generally took to fall asleep in half. And there was no change in the non-active group. The study, published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) denotes that people who performed aerobic exercise or brisk walking slept almost one hour longer than those who did not exercise.

Many people just cannot do regular exercise because of lack of time. Treadmills actually provide a solution to this problem by providing faster results in less time. Treadmills allow a person to custom tailor a workout to his time frame. Treadmills have useful features such as built-in workout programs, controllable inclines, and heart-rate monitors.

A famous psychologist says that when a person feels stressed or depressed, he should do some physical activity. By doing that, he will ultimately be able to bust stress and be happy. He further states that feelings are not in our control, but by exercising, which is in our control, we can ultimately control our feelings.
