Mens Suit Styles Revealed

By Victor Santerino

Defining mens suit styles is not a complicated task. The main thing a man needs to know is that their are only three main suit styles to choose from. These include the Italian, American, and British Styles.

The Italian style suit is double breasted and has slit pockets with wide lapels. Pants are always cuffed and generally have the more formal pleated rise.

Short and stocky men can benefit from this suit because the double breasted jacket and pleated pants are great for hiding a mans body. However, tall and lean men can also look very dashing in this suit as it can really show off a persons height.

The British style suit is single breasted and typically has 3 buttons. Pants are generally pleated or double pleated with bottoms cuffed.

Wear this suit to gain a more authoritative look. The reason for this is because the added material and high neckline make it look more formal than either the Italian or American styles.

The Sac style suit, (also known as the American style suit), is found in a more revealing two button model. Look for flat front pants with both button down and slit pockets.

Wear this suit if you want more of your body to be shown. This type of suit has a lower neckline and does a great job showcasing a man's pectorals.

This article should have given you all the knowledge you need to make your next suit purchase. Remember to make a purchase that looks great on your particular body.
