Adware Free Version - Why is it So Valuable For Your PC?

Aug 28, 2008
We have all been warned about so many things online that can affect our computers. There are so many malicious software or malware, viruses, and adwares that we don't want invading our systems and possibly stealing some information about us. There are so many negative and harmful programs. There are also programs that simply just want to advertise some products or services. These programs with advertisement purposes are most of the time bundled as adware free versions that come with so many programs that we all may already be using or are familiar with.

Adware is the nickname for advertising-supported software. This program has the ability to play and display advertisements to a computer after it is downloaded and installed, or while the application is running. There are adwares that are considered spywares and they have privacy invasion issues attached to them.

What an adware free version usually does is to monitor the web surfing routines of a computer user. It does this in order to customize the advertisements that it will feed to the computer when the software package it is bundled with is running.

The software developers see the adware free versions as their means to recover some costs for the developing the main program. For so many programs we install that we get for free or at reduced prices, there are adwares that come with them so the developers can get some returns via the paid advertisements.

Many users may find these adwares irritating and disturbing but there are some good things about them too:

-The income derived from the paid advertisements allow the software developer to continue developing upgrades to the program that you may find very useful to you.

-Adwares allow you to get that widget, email, or messenger application for free.

-You get software packages at discounted prices.

-You free up your precious gigabytes and use free hosting via websites that offer it. These sites often have adwares.

Adwares are also sometimes sharewares, which is another marketing method of software developers. The concept of the shareware is to offer programs free of charge for a certain period of time. This can be obtained online through downloading and they are sometimes bundled with adware free version too. Sharewares allow the user to test the program first within a specific period of time before he gets the full version, which offers extra features, help, and possible freedom from ads.

There are so many commonly used programs that come bundled with adware free version. Some of these commonly used programs include:

-Adobe Reader

-AOL Instant Messenger

-Windows Live Messenger

-Yahoo Messenger

-Incredimail

-Kazaa

-Eudora

Yes, Eudora the email client is the classic example for an adware in the advertising mode, and not the spyware mode. After the free trial period the user is given a choice: to go on with the free version with limited features, or move on to the full version with outstanding features that are free from ads sometimes.

Adware free versions from the software applications we are fond of using can be good in way. As long as nothing close to identity theft is happening, and only the surfing information is being tracked, then it really isn't bad at all to have the ads popping from time to time.
