Guide to Prevent Wrinkles and Lines on Your Face

Aug 28, 2008
Wrinkles are the enemy number one of all females. That said it is the enemy of men too but not too the degree and extent it is for the females. It is the wrinkles which give away ones age. It is the wrinkles which mar the face which was once very beautiful and had no lines. On the flip side wrinkle is the best friend of almost all the cosmetic companies.

They promise to get rid of wrinkles and give that youthful look back once again. As a buyer and a consumer you should be aware of these companies false claims and advertising campaigns. That is not say that all creams and lotions are bad, some creams may show a lot of promise and may actually be helpful. So reading the reviews of these is the best option.

Here is my guide on what causes wrinkles and how effective are the claims of the cosmetic companies in the light of these facts. It is the epidermis which we always target when we want to get rid of wrinkles. Though the other two layers namely the dermis and the subcutaneous layers are also very important. As we age the cells which make up the epidermis get loose up and make it very easy for the moisture from below to escape and that causes the skin to dry up and in turn become wrinkled.

The dermis layer also becomes thin and that usually means that there is less of elasticity in the skin which in turn leads to skin becoming saggier as we age. The skin is very sensitive to sun. The UV rays damage the underlying layers causing the skin become dry and less elastic which means wrinkles, lines and furrows.

It is said that prevention is better than cure which make sit all the more important that you take care of your skin. To achieve that you need to have three important things under control. These are your eating habits as they have an effect on the skin. Your lifestyle should have exercise regimen built into it. Lastly regularly use the creams and the moisturizers to protect the skin form sun and other environmental factors.

The last piece of advice is that as you grow old then make sure to visit your dermatologist or the cosmetologist for advanced skin acre. This consultation is extremely important so that you know what types of things are available in the market and gains know how about protecting your skin
