These simple suggestions can help you stick to your plan and reach your goals. In as little as two weeks, you'll begin to notice that you feel lighter, stronger, and more confident!

The first simple diet tip requires you to plan your meals. When you eat on the spur of the moment, you often make poor choices. Either the night before or in the morning, you need to plan three small, healthy meals and two small, healthy snacks for the day. Ideally, each meal would be less than 400 calories. More than that and the chances are that some of it will end up stored as fat!

Record your food intake. Health experts agree that tracking your food is one of the single most important diet tips. Weight loss journals are made for this purpose, but aren't necessary. Printable online journal pages can be easily found, and in a pinch, a drugstore spiral notebook works well.

Many of us dine regularly in restaurants and that can be very challenging when dieting. Always be aware of portion sizes. Would you be surprised to know that a typical frozen dinner is an accurate size? Have a plan before you enter the restaurant and stick to it. Try to recruit someone to share a meal with you, or take at least half of your meal home for another time.

Get out of the habit of eating recreationally! Eat with intention and don't be distracted into overeating. Savor your food, chew each bite really well, and put your fork down between bites. These small things will help you feel satisfied instead of deprived. If you're dining out, make your experience more about the company than the food.

Pay attention to your hunger level. Stop eating when you're no longer hungry and don't eat out of boredom! Try to determine what is going on when you desire to overeat. Come up with a list of substitutes that you can reach for instead. Get some physical activity, read a good book, or call a friend, but don't entertain yourself by eating.

Eat plenty of protein and fiber. These are the two types of foods that will keep you satisfied the longest. Don't severely restrict your fat intake. Fats are necessary for hormonal balance, joint lubrication, clear skin, and healthy hair. Some recent research even indicates that healthy Omega-3s can help with fat burning.

Calcium is another nutrient that is needed in a healthy diet. It is believed to boost weight loss, so add skim milk and fat-free yogurt to your diet plan. Severely limit sodas and sweet drinks. Even diet sodas can sabotage weight loss. Drink plenty of water. It will help you feel full longer.

Burning excess fuel is absolutely essential for weight loss and weight maintenance. Find an activity that you enjoy and do it regularly. If exercise is not your thing, you will have to find ways in your day to be generally more active. You should also adjust your attitude and learn to appreciate exercise for all the wonderful benefits that it provides. Try some new activities until you find something you will stick with.

These simple diet tips will help jump-start your weight loss efforts and have you seeing smaller numbers on the scale in no time! You will not be disappointed in your results if you incorporate these tips into your lifestyle. After several days, you will notice small changes that will boost your motivation to continue the journey. You'll begin to feel stronger and more in control and your confidence will soar!
