Sometimes it is a good idea to travel on a skippered boat, which means to rent a boat with a crew member and a skipper/captain. The skipper has full command over the crew and boat; therefore all instructions should be adhered to by the crew members.

Chartering a skippered yacht is best for people with little or no experience in sailing independently. These can come fully catered, therefore there is little needed from the travellers. The advantages of a bareboat yacht charter is the individuals are able to sail where they want to, they do not have to follow strict itinerary and have full responsibility of the boat.

The advantages of sailing around the Ionian islands of Greece is that one can stop off at nearby pier and relax on the beach, should they feel the need to unwind. Others would prefer to stay on board, enjoy the scenery and make some time going for a swim in the ocean when possible. Whatever the choices, sailing is something people should try out in Greece, as this offers can open up opportunities to visit historical sites and enjoy the freedom of taking a swim at any time whilst travelling.
