How To Avoid The Damaging Effects Of Acne Treatments

Aug 30, 2008
Acne occurs in response to certain hormones which can progress onto adulthood. The skin naturally produces an oil called sebum which lubricates between the facial hair and skin. Sometimes the skin produces too much sebum and spreads into other pores creating acne. A zit/pimple forms when a pore gets clogged with oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells.

You notice that there are different types of acne. Whiteheads occur when the open pores are clogged whereas blackheads occur when under oxidation(like a rotten apple). Plain red pimples are dead skin cells and bacteria clogged under the surface of the skin. Cystic acne is the form of severe redness and inflammation.

There are numerous reasons when wondering why acne appears. Making them disappear can be aggravating. Many causes of acne can derive from our diet routine, stress, hormones, bacteria, or even cosmetics(including hair products).

Taking steps to fight acne can get expensive and would always require patience and areas of dedication. Everyday we eat natural food to restore our cells on a daily basis, thus we would never drink chemicals to improve our health. Most of us try different acne products time after time, yet we don't realize that inserting these chemicals to the face can destroy it. Many over-the-counter acne treatments contain harsh chemicals that only sanitize or furnish your skin. There are no magic chemicals that can truly put an end to acne. Acne treatments may help reduce the appearance of acne, but after leaving it off for days, acne can reappear. Making you get other treatment products hoping that it would work. Applying facial treatments is just the beginning of reducing the appearance of acne. The core root of acne begins inside the hormonal system by the way the body responds to certain changes like puberty.

You may want to decline acne treatments most people depend on which contains chemicals like Benzoyl Peroxide(BP). BP is an active ingredient found in most acne treatments that can cause premature aging of skin and develop wrinkles. This affect leads to dryness, irritation and peeling to the skin. The role of BP is intended to neutralize bacteria inside the skin but also dries out the pores. The dried skin within the pores will then mix with other bacterias that create the renewal of acne. We have a natural UV sunscreen in our bodies(called SPF) and the affects of BP could weaken or destroy that protective layer.

Since BP makes the skin so dry, it is equivalent as to exposing your body out in the sun during the process. This would numb the texture of the face and lead to wrinkles. Not only does BP clear out facial pores by eliminating bacteria, but leaves the skin scalpy and tough to moisturize unless applying other treatments to mask the dryness. You would have to use the same treatments over and over to consistently keep the face acne free.

Prescription drugs like antibiotics are great for some people, but for others it can actually worsen the acne. The reason why antibiotics don't work is because it creates excessive build-up of candida. Candida is a bacteria that helps the digestive system and can come from antibiotics, or foods containing yeast or sugar. We all have certain levels of candida in our system. Having too much candida can bring side-effects like severe acne breakouts or yeast infection. Candida can grow or form tremendously when taking antibiotics. If you have taken antibiotics for a long time and experience no side-effects, consider taking probiotics. Since antibiotics eliminates 99% of all bacteria, probiotics would help keep good germ fighting bacteria in tact within the body's immune system.

To better avoid the appearance of acne, simply wash your hands and face whenever necessary and avoid touching the face. Change your pillows every 3 days. Clean tangible items like cell phones or sunglasses often. Exercise to sweat to get rid of toxins that depress the body. Avoid stress. If so, try to stop using too much gel or hairspray. You can make switch to mineral cosmetics or choose natural products. If you're persistent at these simple practices, you'll see a reduction of acne.

There are many pure natural alternatives you can start using to better prevent acne without the use of chemicals. Some of the natural ingredients you can find to stop acne are aloe vera, cocoa beans, green tea, vinegar and much more. There are all sorts of pure natural treatments out there as well. More people are trying to find natural alternatives to get rid of acne. It is your choice if you decide to use harsh chemicals or take the natural route.
