Bulldog Obedience Training: Its Never Too Late To Train Your Dog

Sep 4, 2008
The bulldog is a smaller version of the Mastiff and has descended from the Alaunt, Bandog as well as Mastiff dog breeds. The breed is also well loved in all parts of the world because of his excellent appearance, because he often behaves like a clown and also because of the outstanding companionship that he provides to his owner. Of course, it presupposes that Bulldog breeding has followed best breeding standards and that the Bulldog has been properly socialized as well as given the right Bulldog training.

Bulldogs are by and large ready to please their owners and thus will respond well when given Bulldog obedience training though it is necessary to let him know that you are the boss and that he must follow your directions. He should also first of all be taught to obey the simpler commands such as sit, stay, come and heel and you need to teach him in a stern though not loud voice so that he can be impressed on as to who the boss is.

At the very outset, you need to show your Bulldog that you are the leader and can dominate him and you should not let his small size fool you into neglecting to provide proper Bulldog training to your pet. In fact, it would be foolish to omit giving him Bulldog obedience training because besides improving his behavior, Bulldog training also helps stimulate his brain. The fact is that Bulldogs, just like all other dogs, are not born with the best of manners and thus will create a mess in the home and leap onto guests unless properly taught how to behave well in the home and also outside.

In fact, Bulldog obedience training and Bulldog training are the best gift that you can give to your pet and even the chances of your pup ending up in a shelter will be greatly reduced after he has been taught to behave well and is also housebroken as well. What's more, Bulldog training does also play a major role in bonding well with your pet and thus must be begun as soon as he enters your home for the first time.

It is best for both the owner and his pet if Bulldog obedience training is begun soon after the bulldog is brought into his new home. You can start by teaching him the desired household etiquette and he can be started off with chew toy training after which you can progress to teaching Bulldog obedience training.

Thus, you should not be taken in by the cute and playful nature of your pet while teaching him to obey you, because the need to have a well behaved pet is of paramount importance and so, you should begin training as soon as the pet comes into your home and continue till he has learned all of the basic commands and follows them without any further directions.

The good news is that the Bulldog will soon pick up the meaning of simple commands such as sit, come, stay, down and heel, and in fact, the Bulldog will actually enjoy his Bulldog training sessions and this is also a time when you can connect well with him.

Also, the training sessions should be kept short as well as sweet and you also need to make the training easy enough for your pet to understand what is required of him.
