How to Have Cheap Weddings That Look Expensive

Sep 5, 2008
Planning a wedding can be one of the most expensive things that you will ever do. However, it does not have to be as expensive as you might think. There are great ways to plan cheap weddings that look like they cost a million bucks these days. There are inexpensive ways to make your wedding look like you planned for years and spent a great deal of money to ensure that everything is perfect. The wedding industry is a billion dollar industry and it is estimated that the average wedding cost approximately twenty thousand dollars but not everyone has that kind of money. Knowing how to spend your wedding money wisely will get you everything that you need for the perfect wedding day.

One of the most expensive parts of your wedding will be the dress. There are bridal stores that sell dresses that can cost almost ten thousand dollars but it is not really necessary to pay that much money for a dress that you will wear once and that you can get at a much cheaper price. When trying to select a wedding dress think about what you want and what you can afford. Is it possible to buy a hand-made dress with the money that you have allotted for your wedding or would you be better off buying something less fancy and less expensive? The cheapest way to buy a wedding dress is to look for a second hand dress. This dress has been worn only once and you can get it at a great price. Some people often sell second hand wedding dresses for half the price that they paid for them.

When planning the reception you need to shop around and price out different locations and compare what they are offering you. Some locations include the decorations and dinners in the price but there are some that simply offer you a location to hold your wedding. To save on the cost of your reception is to make sure that you limit the number of people that you invite. It is possible to invite a small number of people to the ceremony and the dinner and then open the dance part of the evening to others so that everyone can become part of the wedding. You invitation list should not include people that you have not seen in years especially if you are looking for a way to save money have the cheapest wedding possible.

While everyone would love to have a professional photographer take their wedding pictures it is not always possible to fit this into the budget and believe it or not you don need an expensive photographer to get great pictures. In many cases someone in the family will know someone who takes great pictures and they may be willing to do it for a cheaper price. During the reception you can place disposal cameras on each of the tables and have your guests take pictures of you and your new husband. There is the worry that people will not take this seriously and they will take horrible pictures but in actuality people take this job very seriously and the pictures turn out to be great.
