Don't Wait to Lose the Pregnancy Weight

Lots of new Moms put off losing the baby fat and then when they do get around to it they are even heavier than when they first gave birth. It's easy to make excuses when you have a newborn but here are the ABC's of losing pregnancy weight.

A is for Abs:

A lot of Moms just want to have their pre-baby bodies back. Toning your abs, arms and legs are key when trying to lose the pregnancy weight. Endless crunches, however, can seem tedious and often times won't do the trick. Try incorporating tools of the trade to help tone those tough areas like an exercise ball or free weights.

Getting your hands on some free weights, as well, will work those muscles and burn calories faster. You can burn the baby fat by burning through reps and sets of weight lifting and be done in 15 minutes.

B is for Banana:

Look at what your baby eats and see the difference in your own diet. Moms wouldn't feed their baby salty chips or sugary desserts. You are what you eat. Therefore you should strive to keep up healthy eating habits such as snaking on a handful of blueberries which are high in antioxidants.

Getting all your food groups in a balanced meal plan can mean including the healthy carbs with your lean proteins and good fats. Make sure to snack on fruits, vegetables and wholesome grains. You can do all the exercise you want but you won't lose the pregnancy weight without eating right as well.

C is for Cardio:

You don't have to spend hours on the elliptical machine to trim your tummy. When trying to boost your metabolism it's best to make workouts shorter by doing your exercises at a faster pace. An increase in your energy level with high intensity interval cardio routines will help you burn calories longer. Jogging mixed with quick sprints and even walking mixed with hikes up inclines will strengthen your heart and help you to lose the pregnancy weight faster.

Interval training helps make sure your body doesn't get used to what you are doing. If you do the same walk around the block every day the calories you burn for that walk will plateau and so will your weight loss. But if you mix it up with light jogs or heavy hikes you will challenge your system. Try and do little sprints within your workout to push yourself and increase your heart rate.

The ABC's of fitness are just the basics to getting back in shape. Follow these vital tips first and you'll be inches away from losing pounds quicker. Losing the pregnancy weight doesn't have to be a battle when you've got the information you need to win the war.
