A Boston Terrier pup is a great puppy to enjoy. They are very sensitive in character and will respond to emotions in the home. They are great companions, especially for the elderly. They were originally bred in Boston, Massachusetts as a non-sporting dog. Boston Terriers have been bred down from the bull and terrier and, therefore, are not as aggressive as these other breeds. They have the nickname, the American Gentleman, because of their gentle and dapper nature.

Boston Terriers make great family pets. They are loyal and will stick right with you. They are great companions for the elderly. When raising a Boston Terrier pup you should use consistency, praise, fairness, patience and firmness. You will find that your Boston Terrier pup will respond to a soft voice of praise and firmness versus a shouting lunatic.

Raising a Boston Terrier pup can be an easy experience if you have researched the breed and understand them. Boston Terriers only need to be bathed when absolutely necessary and then you must only use a mild soap. A soft brush is needed for brushing and a frequent cleaning and checking of the ears and eyes is very important.

Boston Terriers are prone to eye tumors and with frequent cleanings and checks the odds of a deadly eye tumor are minimal. The owner of a Boston Terrier must carry an extra cloth or have one close at hand because this dog tends to drool. His face can be easily kept clean with a swipe now and then.

Raising a Boston Terrier pup means taking daily walks. These dogs need their exercise or they will easily become couch potatoes. Boston Terriers do well in condominiums, apartments and small houses provided they get the attention and stimulation they need to keep them from getting depressed. These dogs also drool, so having a handkerchief handy is an excellent idea to clean their mouths and faces.

Learning how to raise a Boston Terrier pup is fairly simple. These dogs make great pets; have gentle and sensitive personalities and a great sense of humor. They thrive on stimulation from human beings and will become an integral part of the family. Crate training is the best way to potty train Boston Terrier pups. Consistency and patience is the key to crate training these puppies. These dogs love praise and positive reinforcement.

Boston Terrier pups want to become your best friend. They thrive on human contact and will become a member of your family. They usually become an integral part of the family dynamic. These dogs will make great pets if they are given the stimulation and attention and love that they crave. So it is very important to understand this breed before purchasing a puppy.

He must also be curious as to your knowledge of the breed before letting you purchase a puppy from him. If he passes your examination then you know you will be receiving the best he has to offer and most Boston Terrier pups are the best.
