Everything You Need to Know About Toasters

Sep 9, 2008
For years people have been using tools to heat and crust up their bread. Long before the toasting tools we have become accustom to were around, a simple metal frame where bread would be placed inside would be held over a fire. Once the bread was heated or toasted it would be removed and you have yourself a piece hot, crusted bread. Household appliances have definitely changed for the better

Now today they have definitely come of age. You now have your choice between the two slot, four slot, six slot, and eight slot. The more slots, the more bread you can make. If you have a big family, the eight slot is the way to go. If that is not enough then you might want to try the toaster oven, unless your just heating up one piece of bread. Toasting appliances are definitely an essential part of today's household.

Toasters are basically used for toasting bread, bagels, and other small food items that can fit inside the small slot. Oven styles on the other hand are a small oven like appliances. Frozen baking goods, pizzas, baked potatoes all can be placed inside the oven to be cooked in half the time of a regular oven. Households usually have one of each appliance. Saves times, and saves money as well.

Depending on what brand you go with, toasters and ovens have many different features. Some brands such as the Kitchen Aid toasters come with settings that allow you to place frozen pastries inside without worrying about burning them. Other setting include a reheat button and a stop button that brings the bread up once it is pushed. Some brands also come with an option for only one slice of toast for those who eat small.

You can get wider slots for toasting whole bagels and making melted cheese sandwiches. they do however have limited capability, they do exactly what they are suppose to do. They no longer have to be placed underneath the counter or covered by a flower cover anymore either. Toasters are part of today's modern decor. If you like counter with nothing on them, then just place the appliance underneath the counter until needed.

Earlier toasters either had dials or push down buttons to control the settings. Not anymore, toasters and ovens of today now have digital pads and some even have remote controls. Some digital pads even come in larger print just in case your having a little seeing problem early in the morning. The easier and more convenient they are, the more people run out and buy them.

If you are worried about the look of your new appliance sitting on your counter. There is no need to worry. Both come in all shapes and sizes to fit your kitchen needs and decor. No need to worry about the appliance not fitting in. Everyone who is anyone has these appliances sitting on their kitchen counter. And if you would rather not see it, then just pack it up and put it under the counter until needed.

Luckily toasters are a dime a dozen and can be found in any retail store. Prices may vary depending on which brand you decide to go with. Toaster ovens on the other hand are found more or less in larger department or house ware stores in your area and can go up to about $300 depending on the functions you decide you want. You can also try online appliance and house ware sites as well. Either way, both are here to stay for a very long time. After all 80 percent of all households in America have one or the other.
