We have all been there, struggling to lose weight and hoping that this new program will be your weight loss cure. What no one tells you is that there is no "one-cure-fits-all" program because we are all built differently. Most diet programs stress food but changing only your eating habits will cause you to lose muscle and not fat. To successfully lose the fat weight we have accumulated, you will need to exercise and this can be accomplished simply by fitness walking.

Fitness walking is designed specifically to raise the heart rate. Raising the heart rate increases the body's energy consumption and helps to burn more calories. This is very important because when the body requires more energy, it will first look for it from the food most recently eaten. If it can not find it there, it will then take it from the stored body fat. Diets operate differently because they burn muscle first. This is because the body is not putting forth any extra energy, it is simply consuming fewer calories. Because fitness walking will help the body burn stored fat it is even helpful for belly fat loss as well as overall fat loss.

You do not have to be a fitness expert or abide by a long list of rules in order to fitness walk. This is why fitness walking is considered to be a fat loss for idiot's course. Every one can walk because we all can put one foot in front of the other to get to different places. Walking is easy. The hard part comes from learning how many calories you need to burn during your walk. You do not have to start calorie counting like some programs require, but you do need to figure out what your calorie deficit should be and how much walking that will take.

The first thing you need to understand is weight. You need to know how much you currently weigh so you can establish how many calories you need to burn. This is very important because you will want to burn enough calories to burn the fat. As it would happen, heavier people burn more calories walking than less heavy people. This is where a sneaky weight loss secret comes into play. If you are just a few pounds overweight, then you can put on some ankle weights when you walk to increase the weight your body must support. This will allow you to burn many more calories on your walk.

Another important consideration is your speed when walking. Walking will either help you burn more calories or it will burn fewer calories depending on how fast you walk. Walking faster gets your heart rate going rapidly. The faster it beats, the more it will raise your metabolism. This in turn triggers your body to start burning the excess fat in order to keep up with the energy that is required. Once your metabolism goes up, it also helps you to keep burning extra calories even after your walk is finished.

An additional consideration is where you walk. Choosing a place to walk will either help you lose plenty of extra calories or will cause you not to lose only a few extra calories. Exertion in the key to losing extra calories. When you walk downhill, there is no exertion and you will not lose an abundance of calories. Walking uphill however, entails great exertion and you will be able to lose a lot of extra calories.

One more factor to consider is how much sleep is gotten the night before. Sleep is a weight loss secret that not many people know about. Everyone needs plenty of sleep and when the body does not get the amount of sleep that it needs, it will wear out much faster during the day than it normally would. When the body becomes worn out, more food is eaten and less exercise is done to compensate for the lack of sleep.

Fitness walking is the weight loss cure that many people are seeking. It has several factors that will help you burn more calories and thus you will be losing more fat. In order to burn the most fat possible while fitness walking just make sure to get plenty of sleep, walk with extra ankle weights, walk up hill, and walk fast.
