Ten Rules to Trim your Tummy

There are a million diet schemes and thousands of trainers giving exercise advice. So how can you figure out which one works for you? It's easy! Here are the ten rules any Mommy needs to lose the pregnancy weight fast!

1. Eating is Good: Unfortunately many new Moms forget to eat or skip meals and end up starving themselves because they are too busy. This is just slows down your metabolism and it becomes harder to burn the calories you take in when you finally do eat. Try and eat six mini meals a day in order to keep your system working well.

2. Catch some Zzz's: Getting enough sleep is always important for everyone but especially for Moms. You might have sleepless nights with a newborn but when your baby naps during the day so should you. It helps your muscles rest and get stronger and helps to reduce your stress and irritability.

3. Walk it off: You might be anxious at first to get back on that treadmill to trim your tummy with some running. Have no fear because starting with walking will help you get back in the groove. Try and bring your baby for a power walk with you in a stroller or plan a family outing at the park.

4. Weights Burn the Fat: Burn the baby fat by burning your calories with weights. Using free weights at home will help your sculpt those arms and tone your body. Just because you are pumping iron doesn't mean you are bulking up, on the contrary women who weight lift loose inches quicker because their muscles burn calories faster.

5. Have a Ball: There is no better way to trim your tummy than with crunches. But not just the regular crunches like the ones in a junior high school gym class. Get an exercise ball - they are great for getting those abs back because they work more muscles as you balance and there is so much you can do with them. Not to mention they are fun!

6. Less Coffee: You don't have to give up coffee altogether but it's a good idea to stop drinking those fatty Frappacinos. Lots of coffee shops sell tons of calorie ridden blended drinks that pack on the pounds with just a few yummy sips.

7. Water the Liquid of Life: It's essential to drink just straight water in your day instead of juices and other liquids. It's important to flush the system and quench your thirst with the real deal. There are no calories in water and you can often drink up when you feel hungry because your body mistakes hunger at times for thirst.

8. Need for speed: Sometimes short is sweet. Quick cardios will trim your tummy faster by kicking up your metabolism and strengthening your heart. Instead of an hour on the treadmill, try doing two 20 minute bursts of cardio at either end of the day.

9. Stretching: Getting in a few stretches before or after a workout will help you trim your tummy. Stretching helps your muscles rebuild and just like in Yoga stretching gives you more energy to get through the day.

10. Have fun: If you make exercising and losing the pregnancy weight a chore then you won't want to do it. Have fun with your cardio, eating and weights. Incorporate your family, involve friends and make it work within your schedule. If you do that you will burn the baby fat faster!

It can be hard to get back on the fitness horse but if you keep these ten tips in mind it will be much easier to lose the pregnancy weight. Visualizing your goal and keeping your focus will help you cross that finish line twice as fast.
