One of the simplest way is to refer to the body mass index (BMI). You can try to search in Google or Yahoo in order to get an online body mass index calculator. In most case you just enter your weight and height and you will know your BMI. In most case, you will be considered normal if your BMI is somewhere between 18.5 to 22.9. If you find that you will become normal under the framework of body mass index by losing 30 pounds, you goal should be losing 30 pounds. However, you should make your goal realistic. Setting a goal of losing 30 pounds in a week is certainly unrealistic. Normally, you will be able to lose 2 pounds a week in order to do it healthily. As a result, a more realistic goal in this case is that losing 30 pounds in four months.

Once you have set your goal, you should start your weight loss plan as soon as possible. Exercising and dieting are very important when you are trying to lose weight. It is very important for you to do some exercising everyday. If it is possible, you should do it in the morning. You should avoid foods which are of high sugar and fat content!
