Dating Advice For The Unsuccessful Lady Dater

Sep 12, 2008
Dating may be a very romantic and enjoyable activity for many. For some, the first date can be one of the most nerve-racking experiences they have ever encountered.

But for a good number of people, dating can be a very awkward and dreadful event. A probable main issue of girls who find dating an unpleasant experience is the fear of rejection.

Having to wait for a call from a guy you dated 7 nights ago can indeed be very frustrating and can really take a hit on your self-esteem. You may certainly think that you are too unsightly for the person to consider for a second date. But not all who experience this type of feeling have real physical issues. Some are even pleasant-looking folks who may just have a problem with their understanding of a good date.

If you are one of what we can call an unsuccessful dater, the following advice may help you understand what and what not to do on a date.

Think of a date as a prelude to a good friendship rather than to an instant marriage. Some daters would tend to overdo things and make it sound like everything would lead to more serious stuff. Remember that a date, especially the first one is intended for you to get to know the person better. The last thing any date would want is a serious commitment on the first date.

Most of those who are in the dating scene are out there to continually explore and search until they are perfectly sure that they are ready to settle down. So it is best to also adopt this disposition as it can make things less stressful for you. This way, you can also enjoy the company of your date with a more relaxed feeling.

Humour has a way of getting to everybodys heart. So crack a joke once in a while. If you are a funny person, use it to your advantage because everybody loves a jolly person. But make sure that you do not crack a joke on anybodys expense. He may take offense on that kind of humour. A good sense of humour is all you really need to keep the conversation light and easy.

Eat heartily. No one loves a picky eater especially on a first date. Order the type of food you really like as this will also give him a clue on what kind of person you are. As they say, you are what you eat. Do not skip dessert because you are on a diet. A good man likes a girl who eats well and still manages to keep a good body. But do not overeat because it may also send a negative signal that may turn him off. You may drink in moderation if you wish but wait for him to offer first.

Lastly, by the end of the date, do not pressure him into calling you or giving you his detailed contact information. This will clearly set him off rather than make him call. If he really likes you, he will be the one to make the move and find ways to reach you. It is also good to make some slight hint of interest on your part like capping the night with a soft kiss and a good hug.
