How to Use Inkjet Printers

Sep 12, 2008
It seems that there are a couple of elements that are essential when working with an inkjet printer: patience and special care. Inkjet printers are extremely popular and are used in the majority of offices and homes. However, there are things that must be taken into consideration when utilizing these machines.

First off, let's summarize what an inkjet printer actually is. These printers are small and use tanks of ink. This ink is propelled onto paper in very small droplets that combine to create the image or text.

The printers are initially very inexpensive; however, their upkeep can be a little costly if these machines are not taken care of correctly. On the other hand, these printers are very quiet and use much less power than laser printers, so there are many benefits to using inkjet printers.

Here are five very important things to do and to keep in mind when you are using your inkjet printer.

1. Do not use the mains to turn off your inkjet printer. Instead, simply use the power button that is on the printer to turn it off. This prevents electrical issues that may arise otherwise.

2. Make sure that your paper quality is up to snuff. The paper that you use in an inkjet printer should be dry, and its edges should be straight and sharp. Using folded or creased paper can cause damage to the inner workings of the machine. The same goes for using damp paper.

3. If you don't use your printer for an extended period of time, be sure to remove the ink cartridges and replace the seal on the printhead's nozzles. Store the ink cartridges in a dry, cool place, where they won't dry up.

4. Refrain from using refilled cartridges. They can damage the logic card of your inkjet printer.

5. Don't panic if your printer begins to print out gibberish. Simply take a deep breath, shut down your personal computer, and restart it. Most of the time, your printer will sort the problem out on its own.

Inkjet printers give terrific print quality at a good cost. Nowadays, all inkjet printers can print in color, bringing pizzazz to your presentations or letters.

If you find that you might be in the market for an inkjet printer, be sure to treat your machine carefully. That way, you can avoid issues and get the high quality prints that you deserve!
