The Pleasant Side of Colonics

Sep 15, 2008
Some people may shrug off the idea of getting a thorough colonic cleansing treatment with the mere thought of having a tube inserted in the rectum and have gallons of water pumped into the colon. Additionally, this invasive procedure involves removing smelly filth from the colon, which is typically embarrassing.

The procedure is done in tranquil atmosphere since an important aspect of this procedure is to make the patient feel comfortable and at ease. The patient is made to lie down comfortably on the treatment table. The trained therapist will start his magic by making the patient relax for the procedure. Then, there are two types of colonic session from which one can choose from: the open system and the closed system. However, be rest assured that in either sessions, one's privacy and personal hygiene is maintained at all times. With the open system, water is pumped into the patient's body through a rectal nozzle the size of a pencil. The patient will be asked to retain the water inside for as long as he can, then simply he can simply release as if sitting on a toilet. With the closed system on the other hand, water is pumped through one of the hoses attached to a rectal tube called a speculum, then the waste is sucked out of the patient's colon by the colonic machine through the second hose and out to the septic system.

Warm sterilized water lowly trickles into your colon. The warm feeling of the water slowly filling the colon is in itself a therapeutic. At the same time the therapist will massage your abdomen. This will help the water move about the colon and loosen the hardened wastes on the walls of the colon. While the patient is becoming more relaxed, the fecal matter in his body is removed through the other hose. This procedure may take 30 to 50 minutes.

During the length of the procedure, the patient is bound to feel a euphoric state of pleasure as the nerves in the colon transmit a pleasantly full feeling, yet not painful. And after the procedure, with the removal of the stagnant wastes in the colon, the patient will immediately feel lighter.

All in all, the pleasant effects of colonics are immediately felt from the moment one lies and relaxes on the treatment table which continues long after the procedure. It would not be a surprise if the patient actually looses several pounds after the procedure considering the mass of the fecal matter that might have lingered in his body for who knows how long.

Additionally, one big factor why a person often feels sluggish is partly due to the weight of his colon, filled with hardened wastes, pressing down on his other organs. The other reason is that the body tends to reabsorb the toxins from the stagnant wastes, thus, other organs responsible for purification such as the liver and the kind tends to overwork, weighing down the entire body. As the organs are stressed out, so is the brain. So, in addition to the outside factors that stress one's mind and body, there are also internal factors which promote mental and emotional imbalance.

Now, with the thorough removal of the dragging weight and toxins, not only is the body rejuvenated but most importantly, the mind is unburdened as well.
