Once you have fully optimized your website, the next steps are to create a search engine campaign. Below is a list of campaigns and a description for each.

Routine Maintenance of Website

The first and most important step is to go through the entire site to look for broken links, broken images and broken pages and repair that problem. If your website is cluttered with broken links, images and pages, regardless of how many keywords are in place and how well the majority of the website is optimized, those broken anchors will hinder fully optimal performance within a natural search campaign.

Keyword Research

Next, you need to strategically select keyword phrases that are relevant to your business. It is important to not only choose phrases related to your business but ones that are currently being searched for as well as phrases that will generate the desired response of visitors to our site. Tools such as Keyword Discovery and Word tracker can create a list of phrases that will send targeted traffic to our site.

On Page Optimization

Your website will be carefully optimized to accurately represent the keyword phrase selection. We need to pay close attention to elements such as title tags, Meta description tags; alt attributes and anchor text in hyperlinks, site design and internal link structure and body copy. The amount of keyword phrases you choose to target will determine the extent of optimization that is developed for our site.

Search Engine Inclusion/Submission Process

Once the optimization strategy is in place, you should check to see if the site is already included in the top crawler based search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN & Ask. In the case that it is, the crawlers will automatically pick up the changes on their next visit to your site. If it is not already included, we will place our URL on sites that are already crawled on a regular basis. This will allow each search engine to find your site and include it in its index. You should not submit directly to the top crawlers as they would prefer to find your site on their own. You should however submit to a variety of smaller search engines such as Alexa, Accoona and Scrub The Web because those websites use the Google spiders and it will take longer to those sites to index our changes so we directly go to those sites and manually will submit all changes made.

Directory Submissions

Next, you should create professional listings which will be submitted to the top directories. Those directories are AbiFind, AbiLogic, JoeAnt, Open Directory, Skaffe and Web-Beacon. Categories that are most relevant to your business will be selected. All details of your directory submissions will be documented and recorded at a reference point that we can later follow up with to ensure the submissions were accepted and listed correctly.

Ongoing Campaign Maintenance

After this submission process is complete; you can perform ongoing campaign maintenance by looking for other exposure your website will benefit from online using such tools as:

* Shopping Portals - Submitting to online shopping portals. According to the Yankee Group, there are over 500 shopping portals online, and there are tools to submit our website to all of them

* Article & Blog Writing - Constantly writing articles, update blog sites and streamlining them to a landing page created specifically for that announcement.

Banner Advertising - This involves creating banners and strategically placing them on websites that is related in theme and content with yours. As well, you should look to have your banners be placed on webpages that have a high PR (page rank).
