The UO Factor: Undermuscled And Overfat

Sep 15, 2008
The majority of people who say they want to lose weight do so because they want to look better. Unfortunately, these same people are suffering from what I call the UO Factor, and are really undermuscled and overfat. And the fact is, losing weight rarely results in them looking the way they want. Here are 4 ways to avoid the UO Factor.

Stop Worrying About How Much You Weigh

Tell the truth. If you already looked the way you wanted, would you care how much you weight? I mean, if you were happy with the reflection looking back at you in the mirror, the last thing you would be worrying about is the number of pounds or kilos the scale says.

Looking your best is the result of your body composition. It is determined by the portion of muscle and fat you have on your body. And sadly, most people are undermuscled and overfat.

Determine If You Are Undermuscled And Overfat

So, you are thinking about losing some pounds of fat to improve the way you look. But first you need to determine if losing those pounds of ugly fat really results in the body you want. For most it won't. Here's why...

If you don't have muscle under the fat you are about to lose, you are undermuscled. So, losing the fat exposes what? A frail, weak body! This is not the goal of most people I know.

Yes, you probably are overfat... meaning you are carrying too much fat for your body frame. But just losing the fat is not enough to expose the body you want. You MUST combine a workout program and nutrition plan designed to lose fat while keeping muscle (or even building muscle). This is how you expose the body you want.

Determine Your Realistic Goals

You did not get the undermuscled and overfat body you now have overnight. It took years of neglect (or maybe a lifetime) to get this way. So don't expect miraculous changes overnight.

But to get noticeable results as fast as possible, you need to dedicate yourself to a fat loss and muscle building workout and diet long enough to start seeing the results you want. And there is nothing as motivating as seeing and feeling the results of your efforts.

Decide On The Workout And Diet Program Right For You

If you have concluded you are undermuscled and overfat, you need to do something about it. You need to pick the right workout program and nutrition plan to both build useful muscle and eliminate useless fat. The result will be the strong, lean, athletically muscular body you want.

Forget about losing weight, and start thinking about building the muscular body you want and exposing it by burning fat. If you are undermuscled and underfat, this is the real way to get the body composition you need to look your very best. My advice, look for a workout and nutrition program ALREADY getting fantastic results... and get busy today.
