Get In An Afternoon Of Sightseeing In Chicago - City Parking And Free Eco-Friendly Attractions

Chicago public parking puts you in the center of some of the city's best attractions without having to drive all over the city. This means there is no fighting with traffic and no excess emissions going into the atmosphere. Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and Grant Park are just three great spots in the city that you can spend an afternoon or an entire day. They are conveniently located close to Chicago city parking and have a variety of free activities that make the day environmentally friendly and affordable.

Interactive Productions On The Water

At the Navy Pier in Chicago, public parking puts you in the midst of great free programs. What better way to spend a day enjoying the city. The mix of music, children's entertainment, and interactive theatre productions means everyone can enjoy the vast entertainment offered here. The productions are often held several times throughout the day so there is no need to rush through the other sites on the pier.

The pier can be found off Grand Ave. right on Lake Michigan on the east side of Chicago. City parking is available right on the pier or at the Grand Ave. entrance for those looking to see other sites along with the pier. The Grand Ave. parking area also puts you in direct line to see the Navy Pier Fountain. Enjoy the amusement park and the boats on the lake while you walk around the pier and stop along the way for a picnic lunch.

Interesting Art At Millennium Park

Another great spot for a free and environmentally friendly day is Millennium Park in Chicago. City parking is available in several locations, only requiring a quick walk to get to the best parts of the park. In fact, there is a total of 24.5 acres of green space filled with a variety of different attractions and events held here throughout the year.

The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in the northwest of the park frequently hosts musical performances and plays on its open-air stage. The 2.5-acre Lurie Garden on the south side of the park is filled with beautiful flowers and flora. The Crown Fountain can be found in the southeast corner of the park. It consists of two 50-foot glass towers that have videos projected onto them for a stunning aquatic display. The shiny jellybean-like sculpture on the east side of the park is so large you can walk underneath it.

One spot visitors should definitely stop at in the park is the welcome center. While there, you can get a free map of the park, an event calendar to find out what is happening in the park, and free audio tours of the park. Chicago public parking is available on each side of the park, except the south end. This means you can park in the area you will be spending the day or make a complete circle throughout the park.

Buckingham Fountain At Grant Park

Located in the park district of Chicago, public parking can be found on the west side of Grant Park. This is also directly west of Buckingham Fountain, one of the most famous sites of Chicago. This is not the same old water display. The terrific light show, reflected beautifully in the water, can best be seen best in the evening. Chicago city parking also puts you close to the aquarium and planetarium, but the views of the water and the city skyline are great to enjoy during a picnic or a romantic walk along the water.

With the Navy Pier, Grant Park, and Millennium Park in Chicago, city parking is abundant and accessible. This means the convenience of Chicago public parking makes it easy to lower your carbon footprint while still enjoying the day. Best of all, the abundance of free activities makes it easy on both your bank account and the earth. These are just a few of the city's great attractions.
