High Blood Pressure Medications Can Cause More Risk Than Reward

Sep 16, 2008
Every single day, millions of adults are diagnosed with hypertension or high blood pressure. This cardiovascular disease is exceedingly hard to ascertain; which means most people that have hypertension, don't even realize it, or realize the dangers of this disease. Medical practitioners have the key responsibility in detecting this disease and upon diagnoses will usually prescribe some sort of medication to ensure the disease does not progress. However, most of these medications can only worsen the problem. There are various kinds of medication and each one can have negative side effects as well as high risk factors. In most cases it's a better idea to find a natural remedy than that of a medical remedy. Listed below are a few side effects as well as risk factors of these medicines.

Diuretic Drugs - This is one of the most common medicines for high blood pressure. However, this drug can also cause the patient to have skin rashes.

Beta Blockers - Usually these drugs are given to people in the Stage II of the blood pressure scale. These drugs include things such as Timolol and Solalol, these high blood pressure medications have side effects such as tiredness, sleeping problems and even cold hands and feet. The reason for this is because these medications slow down the heart and open the blood vessels.

People taking CCB drugs such as Lacidipine and Felodipine have complained of swollen ankles, bleeding gums, and constipation. These reports worsen when two drugs are used in combination, as they often are with CCB drugs and Alpha Beta blockers being mixed for complications with HBP.

One of the most common high blood pressure medication side effects is incontinence among women patients, as well as dizziness.

The doctor should inform you of all of these side effects but there have been several cases where the doctor did not. High blood pressure seems like a big enough problem to deal with, but to have additional problems or complications arise as well because of high blood pressure medications is really unneeded and very likely. This is one of the main reasons why people end up taking the natural route rather than the medicinal route. Of course with all medicines and natural cures it's a good idea to talk to a health practitioner as a simple precaution. These natural remedies are a way to dissipate your high blood pressure, and also not have to deal with the high risk factors that you will have to deal with when taking HBP medicines.
