Your Health, Your Colon

Aug 17, 2007
What is my colon like?

The human colon looks like a tube and it runs from the stomach to the anus. There are two parts to the colon the caecum, ascending, transverse, descending, sigmoid and rectum.

Only parts of the food we consume are actually digested by us, the rest which remains undigested accumulates into the colon which acts like a reservoir. This waste material needs to be eliminated from the system as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours. However if the waste material stays over a day inside the colon it starts forming toxins and your colon begins to suffer.

The colon cleanse herbs and the herbal laxatives are generally harmless and are alternatives to commercial laxatives. Colon cleanse herbs contain substances which fall under the category of anthraquinones. These would include cascara sagrada, rhubarb, and senna. That the herbs have laxative effects can be attributed to the presence of the anthraquinone substances.

If you want to have a good colon it must be functioning at its optimal level. It should be free of any toxins which can lead to allergy symptoms, bad breath, infection and much more. Regular colon cleansing would help avoid such symptoms.

Why do I need my colon to be clean?

Although we don't quite care about our colon it is one organ that suffers the most these days. And this is because of our eating habits which is full of low or non fiber high processed foods. So often the colon accumulates a lot of waste which can only be dealt with if we go for colon cleansing.

Do I need to go for colon cleansing?

An unclean colon can be the cause of several ailments like indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, body odor, acne, mucus colitis, gas, fatigue, obesity etc. If you are suffering from any of these problems you can give colon cleansing a shot.

What are the benefits I can hope to achieve from colon cleansing?

Colon cleansing can treat several ailments like indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, body odor, acne, mucus colitis, gas, fatigue, obesity etc. That is a whole lot of problems being solved just by having a clean colon. When the colon gets filled with toxic waste material, all these problems begin cropping up.

Do I need to cleanse my colon regularly?

No. If you have got your colon thoroughly cleansed once, you can just follow a proper diet with sufficient amount of fiber in it and you can eliminate the need for any further colon cleansing. Also drink plenty of water so that your system is flushed and is rid of any toxin that develops.

By ensuring a clean colon you can enjoy a healthy, fun-filled life.
