A look into the history of basketball in the USA

In the year 1891, a Canadian physical education teacher James Naismith of Springfield, Massachusetts, invented the game of basketball as a sport less injury prone than football. It spread like wildfire and many colleges inculcated it in their sports. After a proper establishment and popularity, it began its professional episode. The sport spread worldwide and federations were formed to coordinate teams and tournaments. In 1932, Romania, Portugal, Switzerland, Latvia, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Greece, and Argentina founded the International Basketball Federation or FIBA. In June 1946, the famous Basketball Association of America was founded. After a merger with rival National Basketball League, it became what we know today as National Basketball Association or the NBA. There have been iconic players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, who have upped the game and its reputation in international circuits. Every state has its own team like the Ohio basketball team called the Cleveland Cavaliers, Florida has two teams namely Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. However, the most popular form of basketball apart from the NBA games are the high school or middle school basketball team games.

Inclusion of technology and statistics

With time passing and the popularity growing, basketball had an increased mass appeal that allowed many to take it up as a sport of choice. Many of them dream of representing their state, their nation, at the highest level. This has led to new and developed technology as well. The rules were also changing that made way for technology as well. Today, basketball is a sport that triggers passion, emotions and popularity all at the same time. In such a competitive sector, the knowledge of statistics has surely been of help. There are a few benefits of going through the overall statistics.

Better overview: With clear numbers on the board, one can analyze easily about the player's performance.
Better opportunity: With a better look at a certain player, the options become wide open.
Better focus: When the selectors have numbers that talk, they can focus better on any player.
Better comparison: There will always be the case of a dilemma when selecting players of equally high standard. However, clear numbers would make it easy to compare a certain trait that the selectors are looking for.

It is often argued that numbers, statistics, and analysis take the fun out of the game and there is much more to a player than just numbers. This is a fact that no one denies, but the numbers are here to make matters easier. SO, why not go for them. For example, one can easily look at the Ohio basketball players in the high school level and get an idea of what the player would be like. Then, they can move towards the traditional methods. Moreover, these statistics and player rankings of Ohio basketball have been created with the consultation of writers, coaches, and professionals related to that field. This puts forth the player's worth on a piece of paper easily. So, get up and get going with the numbers for an informed decision.
