What to do with Toxins Produced in the Colon?

Aug 17, 2007
The kind of eating habits we practice it is normal that our colon gets affected. That the bowel is unhealthy is because of consumption of toxic substances regularly which would include caffeine, sugar, white flour, microwave-cooked food, hydrogenated fats and deep fried foods. All these food substances can lead to huge amounts of deposits in the colon which it is not able to deal with.

When excess of waste matter gets deposited in the colon and they settle there in the absence of regular bowel movements, these waste matter start producing toxins. These toxins in no way can be beneficial to our health. But what happens is after the toxins are produced they get absorbed by the bloodstreams near the colon and are conveyed all over the body. This can lead to fatigue, nausea, headaches and many other ailments of similar nature.

There is hardly anything you can do once the toxins are produced. They will be transported to different parts of the body. You can drink more water but that will address the problem only up to a point. The only way to deal with this is not to allow the toxins to form inside the colon in the first place. And this can be achieved through colon cleansing.

There are different ways in which you can get your colon cleansed.

One can use laxatives but the problem with that is most physicians won't prescribe those drugs unless and until they find it absolutely necessary. They generally prescribe laxatives only before a physical examination like an x-ray.

There is also the option of colon hydrotherapy. One can get his colon cleansed by enrolling in a colon cleansing program where all the stuff inside his colon is flushed out by forcing purified water into the colon through a pipe. These programs generally extend over two months and require you to attend 10 to 12 sessions. Each session lasts for about 45 to 60 minutes.

Using colon cleansing herbs is another option. Many of them come in the form of tea which you drink with lukewarm water. They are generally very strong and quick to react. But sustained use of them over a long period can cause severe side effects.

The final idea is to rid your body of toxins. The method you employ is up to you. And once you have got your colon cleansed, make sure that it remains so by practicing good dietary habits.
