Tips to score 90% in last three months

Apr 21, 2017
As the world wakes into to a new year, the class 12 students wake up to the fact that they hardly have 3 months to face the board examinations.
A simple tip to pass the examination is, to complete the syllabus in three months at least once.
However, most students are worried about their grades in class XII.
The purpose of the article is to deal with what you should do to score 90 percent and above.
Are three months enough to score over 90%?
Not more than 3% students prepare for the exams from day one. Over 90% of the students do not take the first 9 months seriously.
90% of the students start the preparing only in the last three months.
No, not everyone works hard.
There are smart workers and there are hard workers. You don't have to pick an option. Our strategy is a mix of both.
Read through to understand more.
Step 1 - Know your weaknesses
It is crucial to know your weaknesses if you want to improve. Once is a mistake, twice is a mistake, and thrice is a habit.
Go through your previous examinations. Read through the teacher's remarks on your answers. Do not ignore the red round ups.
Carefully, understand what you did wrong. Make a conscious effort to avoid the mistakes you previously made.
When you correct your mistakes, you will not repeat them during your board exams.
Take a mock test. Put yourselves in the evaluator's shoes and be very critical of your performance.
Work on every small aspect that needs improvement.
Focus on what reduced your marks in previous tests. This will improve your score significantly.

Step 2 - Cover the complete syllabus
Once you are sure that you are completely confident on the chapters you are familiar with, now is the time to venture into the unknown territories.

Refer to the NCERT books and stick to your syllabus. While dealing with the unknown chapters, the notes which you had previously written down will be of some help. So, refer to your previous notes.
Simplify your preparation as much as possible. Do not get carried away and dwell deeply into the subject. You can research on your favorite subject when you are done with your exams.
Remember, the focus is to score well in class 12 exams.
Step 3 - One chapter at a time
You are learning some concepts for the first time. Once you are confident that you have completely understood what you have learned, test yourselves in those concepts.
Deal with one chapter at a time. You can choose the questions from the previous test papers for practicing. Practice will help you improve.
In other words, you will have to do better than what you had done in the previous tests.
While preparing you will have to remember that time is your limitation. Manage your time wisely.
The objective is to complete chapter within the assigned time.
Step 4 - Learn to manage Time
"Then one day you find the last ten minutes have gone behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun!"
The above (edited) lyrics of the Pink Floyd song "Time" sums up what happens if you fail to manage the time.
While you are preparing or practicing, your focus should be to finish the test on time. Many mismanage their time hence ending up not answering the complete question paper.
Use your time wisely. Indulge in self-study and prepare the practice notes.
If you are good at studying with others, invite friends over for a group study.
Reduce the time you spend on hobbies. Focus on your preparation for your class 12 board exam.
I do not suggest you should let go off your recreational activities completely but you have to invest more in preparation.
You can take a small break to play guitar or go for a swim during the preparation to cool off the stress.
Steps 5 - Languages are not simply the easy barriers
Often people do not include languages into their timetable. Remember, that language is also for 100 marks which translate to an easy chance to score more.
It is one thing to not realize the languages as the scoring subjects and it is a mistake at gargantuan proportion if you are underestimating languages by not preparing.
Touch upon the languages whenever you can. Invest at least 30hrs in a week for the languages. Focus on your grammar and writing skills.
Compared to the other subjects, preparing for the languages could be fun!
Step 6 - Presentation
The person who is about to evaluate your paper does not know you. Moreover, he should evaluate over 40 papers in 6 hours.
The only way you can help him understand what you have written in your answer book is through the clean and neat presentation.
Highlight the important notes which you think will summarize the whole answer.
Highlight the formulae and the answers in the end.
Spend at least 1 to 2 hrs in a week on your presentation. Set a timer and practice writing clearly and neatly without any corrections.
