Energy Healing: Three Proven Techniques
There are many types of energy healing, ranging from EFT or emotional freedom technique to Reiki healing. Sharing information about these subtle energy techniques can be difficult though, for understanding comes from experience more than anything else.
Energy healing is a broad field, ranging from Chinese medicine's work with the energy meridian system, to the more recent modalities offered through the findings and practices of individual healing practitioners. How do we talk about energy healing in a way that can be understood? It can be difficult, for the English language does not have words that support the concepts of spirituality.
Many of the words we use to describe energy healing and the energy systems of the body are found in eastern philosophies and ancient languages. The word chakra, meaning wheel, comes from the Sanskrit language. Many energy healers will speak of components of the energy bodies, such as the chakras. Some see the energy flowing, others feel or sense in other intuitive ways.
Energy medicine is nothing new in the eastern cultures. Chinese medicine and acupuncture has treated the energy meridian system for thousands of years. The subtle electrical impulses generated by the the acupuncture points have been confirmed by our western technologies, showing that this unseen connectivity really does exist.
Another form of energy healing is Reiki. Reiki is used not just by energy healers, but by nurses and doctors as a complimentary treatment. Reiki involves using universal energy to help clear energy blocks and release obsolete thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
One of the most powerful forms of energy healing is prayer. Many do not think of prayer as energy healing, but prayer has proven to be an effective technique in aiding the healing process.
A shroud of mystery still surrounds energy healing. Is it possible to heal the body through thought and intent? Many believe it is not just possible, but that our thoughts are the leading force in restoring and maintaining health. Throughout time there has been a dividing line between those who believe in those subtle forces, and those who do not. Aside from the arguments we find that energy healing really does work.
