Before you get the breast enhancement done, your doctor will go over the different types of incisions that can be used to insert the breasts inside of your body. With three different places the incision can be made, you have your choice of where the scar will be left. The least noticeable place would be under your armpit where the doctor can make an axillary incision. This type of incision will allow the breast to be inserted either above or below the muscle and moved over slightly to position the breast in the proper place. The second place where the incision can be put is where the breast meets the lower chest. This is called an inframammary crease, and leaves a less noticeable scar because you literally have to lift up your breast in order to see it. Then you have the periareolar incision which is the easiest for the doctor to use. The area that the incision will be is where the skin changes between your nipple and your breast itself. Once cut the implant will just slide right in through a pocket that is formed underneath the muscle.
Your doctor will usually discuss with you the various sizes and shapes of the breasts that you can choose from. Many women have different ideas about how they want to look. Some want to only add one size whereas other women want to add numerous sizes to their bra cup. Breast enhancements are not one size fits all and what may look great on one woman, may look totally different on another. It is important that you are honest about your goal in getting implants, and be as forthright with what you want to make yourself happy.
